The BDG Game

I heard a Pink interview where she talked about a dinner party game she plays called BDG's ... Brag, Desires, and Gratitudes.  Each person shares at least one of each - helps us to remember that there are so many good htings in life even when things seem tough

Who would like to share a BDG?

BRAG - I ate SO balanced and light yesterday all day that I was able to have real oil popped popcorn last night as a snack .... without going over calories or carb counts for the day!  It was AWESOME!

DESIRE - that by the time I need to buy a new wet suit, I will not have to custom order it because of my size

GRATITUDE - Even tough I am technically overweight, I am fit and healthy, I am adventurous nad I am DONE having my weight stop me from doing things I want to do!  Like scuba dive!

bubblegum, welcome back! I totally agree with sinkpea, I am not one to cut out a certain food...it just sets people up for disaster. Our brains are Very Very powerful and if you say you cant have something it makes you want it more. Just keep a journal of what you eat and how much you eat and then try to make small changes at a time :-) you can do it!!! I am not sure time of the day when you eat makes much difference I eat breakfast at 6:30am M-F and on the weekends not until after 8 or 9. Lunch any where from 11am-1 pm and dinner anytime from 5pm till 7pm. it just depends on whats all going on for me. BUT I ALWAYS EAT my 3 meals every day, its very important!!! if I snack its on fresh fruit or raw veggies. if we have dessert I will have some but I keep my servings appropriate for my days calorie intake. All the best to you!!! you can beat this disorder, I have faith in you!

sinkpea, glad all is fine with the hubbys foot. My mom's test came back fine..thank the good Lord!!! but she still is having pain so she goes back in to the hospital in April to get checked out. I hope the figure it out soon she is so tiny as it is she cant afford to lose any more weight!

The sun's out, It's a little too much heat for me but I'm in my room so it's all good and the veiw outside my window is beautiful.

Hth, I'm so happy I'm able to talk to you again after being away for so long trying to recover. Thank you so much for the motivating comment, it can never be too much and there's always room for more as I need all the motive I can get.

I'm definitely taking the advices I've been given so far and considering them in my new life change. Thank you Sinkpea and Hth....again.

Right, It's time for me to ask my Mum if I can get my ears peirced....and my lip, I'm scared.....thinking of what she's going to say.

Brag - I love brand new days especially when they're as beautiful as this. I mean when the day's this beautiful, I sometimes don't remember (only for a few seconds) that I have any problems.

Desire - I hope my road to recovery isn't too hard on me.

Gratitude - Still going.

Brag ~ High school conferences for my son went great today! all A's & B's

Desire ~ rain to STOP!!!! & me to feel better....

Gratitude ~ that even though my son's soccer team lost 1 to 2 last night they had a great time even in the poring rain in a mud filled field!!! OMG i had to do laundry this morning..... momma don't like the mud even if the kids do ;-( yuk

o ya I forgot my brag for Sunday was that I took my son to see the Jeff Dunham show in the city!!! I Have not laughed so hard in my life what a great comedian/ventriloquist he is. WOW so glad my boy talk me into getting the tickets.

bubblegum - if I were your mum...I'd say, yes to the ears (mine are pierced several times)....but the lip???  Not on your life!    Hope you are having better days and having good luck changing your eating habits....every little step in the right direction will lead to your success.  Keep coming back....we are here to cheer you on and help you through!

hth - glad to hear the tests came out good for your mom!  Hope even better news comes in April.  And, I love hearing about your son.....he is one special guy and lucky to have such a loving mom!

To be honest.....the only thing good about today was the weather. 

Thank you Sinkpea for your advice on the piercings first of all, I'm definitely taking it into consideration. I also thank you so much for believing I can do this and for your support, It's a tremendous boost for me.

I never seem to give up hope.....I'll get there! The end of this mission may seem sooooo far away but I'm way too desperate to reach the end of this so if at first I don't succeed, I have to dust myself off and try again.....and again....and again.....

A new day is on it's way to greet us but I can only hope that things go well for the first time in way tooo long.

Brag - For tomorrow to go well for me, seems like a fantasy.

Desire - For my  current dream to be reality and NOT a fantasy.

Gratitude - Absolutely refusing to give up on my dreams.

Brag ~ eating a awesome garden & grilled chicken salad today!!!! My weight is still good, even though I have not been on my elliptical since Last Thursday.

Desire ~ that I get my butt back on my Elliptical.....& I hope my sons Soccer team wins tonight!!!

Gratitude ~ for my sons enthusiasm for soccer... even in the pouring rain! I am glad I have a good washing machine ;-)

bubblegum, again I agree with sinkpea, I would say ok with the ears but no way on the lip! How old are you and what would you like to do for your profession in life? just wondering... lip & nose piercings are hard to hide and most professions/bosses frown upon them.  just my 2 cents ;-)

sinkpea, glad your husband is one "step" closer to healed up!! can he dance with the "boot" or are you solo dancing for now?? hows that Grand baby doing?

Hth - Pouring rain?! You're so lucky, I want the rain over here in London because the heat is getting a little bit unbareable for me aside from the beautiful brightness of the sunshine.  Thank you for the advice regarding my piercings, I think for now I'm only going to get my ears done but I do love piercings a lot. I just turned 21 on March 12 and I want to be an Artist, that's a huge dream of mine.

Brag - It's a new day and at the moment I'm 5'6 and about 156 lbs, I have no choice but to be 130 lbs and soon...... 26 lbs to go. I'm so excited to lose all these pounds for LAST TIME!

Desire - I'm going to be 130 lbs and soon.

Gratitude - Allowing people to help me through this tough situation.

BRAG:  Stayed at goal for my weigh in today!!  YEAH!!!

DESIRE:  Rain, no storms!!!

GRATITUDE:  Hubby got his boot, a sleeping cast, and a 'shoe' for driving (which he will be able to do in about 2 weeks!)

hth - Get Back on the Elliptical!  :)  I'm dancing solo (with other 'men' at the dances) but that's okay.  Hubby still goes and sits on the sidelines to watch.  If I know him, in about 2 weeks he will be trying the slower dances in the boot....but not tonight!  My G'baby is good....just too far away.  She turns one at the end of May! Oh, I forgot the other day....I saw Jeff Dunham...Never laughed so hard!!!

bubblegum - good idea to keep it with just the ears!  I have two on each eatlobe and one in the left cartiledge....had them all for years!  And, I'm old -- but I still love 'em.  You can do the 26 pounds down!  Knock 'em out!

GRATITUDE:  Hubby is walking without crutches....in a boot....I don't have to deliver his food/whatever to him anymore!!    I did it with love, but it's nice for both of us that he can do it himself.  It makes him a much happier person.

Brag ~ my boys trap team took 1st place Saturday! soccer lost but had fun!

Desire ~ to get back into it all...I need to find my motivation again!

wow what rain we have been having and so many washed out roads some have completely disappeared!!! the rain really needs to STOP for a while and let the ground and rivers katch up!

its spring break for the kids (not that we see the girl anymore) :-( ug she had totally disregarded us, took us off her face-book family list and deleted all the pictures of her with any of our family...even grandma (who is passed away) and grandpa (who gave her the car) my moms wedding and grandpas wedding. EVERYTHING deleted....very frustrating. She is officially 17 1/2 years old so for the next 6 months ....this is what her dad gets to deal with, she will not answer any of his text's or phone calls/messages/email and her mom is encouraging this behavior to "teach her dad a lesson" , really is this what you want to teach kids now that when they do something illegal and there is a consequence that this is how to live?!?!?!? she tells kids at school that its funny to give her dad the silent treatment and that he is so mean for taking the car away from her... someday I hope she wakes up!!!!

It's a new day, I think everyone's caught up with my love for new days now.
It's also 11 degrees, the sun is in hiding and overall it's a beautiful day.

Hth - I need some motivation too, I just found one today when I logged on and saw my helpful ticker on my profile...made me smile to know that I can do this and I will!

Sinkpea - Get well soon Sinkpea's hubby.
My Mum knows me too well for being stubborn. Whenever I'm sick, I decline any help because I don't want to feel useless so I drag myself around the house if I have to.

Brag - I CAN DO THIS! 26 LBS......I can't believe I allowed my Eating Disorder to puch me this far over the edge but I'll get back within my desired frame, only this time it'll be permanent!

Desire - CONTROL! CONTROL! CONTROL!

Brag ~ my moms surgery is over with.

Desire ~ that my mommy starts feeling better..... that her pain goes away!

Gratitude ~ that her surgery went well yesterday, thanks to the surgeon. and the nurses were great to.

I am glad its spring break so my son can be with his Nana (my mom) to take care of her right now.

BRAG:  My kittie is doing much better!!  Found out a few months back that she is diabetic!  Her blood count was over 650!  Been taking meds and changed her diet, her count is now 350!  The vet said she never expected the change...I believe our prayers helped, too!

DESIRE:  A good weigh-in tomorrow....and be able to go to the gym!

GRATITUDE:  For the true reason for Easter!

Brag ~ my moms feeling a bit better today! We had SUN today! so my son could fix up his Nana's yard nice while she is recovering! I have a flower blooming already outside!!!

Desire ~ for a sunny nice relaxing weekend for Easter! a nice Easter dinner with most of the family. wishing the step-daughter would have a change of heart.....

Gratitude ~ that Ionly one more day in the work week! and that my mom is recovering.  Thanks for all the prayers from everyone! they are very much appreciated.

BRAG:  Made it to the gym!  Did not want to go, but I did!!

BRAG2:  Hubby is driving again!!!  YEAH!!!  He has a shoe to wear for driving.  I got home and he wanted to take me for a ride to see if it would work, it did, now he's out & about!

DESIRE:  My g'baby's daddy is on his way to Afghanistan....my desire is prayers for his safety and that he return home soon.

GRATITUDE:  A beautiful Easter weekend....an amazing church service yesterday followed by a really good dinner that I made!

03bubblegum - The true reason for Easter that I'm so very grateful goes along with the second meaning of the Easter Egg that hth quoted....it's not about bunnies and chocolate, but a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

hth - So glad your mom is doing better.  Hope you had the Easter you were hoping for.  And, thanks for the lesson on Easter Eggs.  Didn't know that!
