bf just made me the happiest girl in the world.

that's right. he asked. i exclaimed "yes!" and now nothing can tear us apart.

we've been moving my stuff into his apartment. it's really freakin' hot today and we're exhausted, so we decided that a quiet night in would be the best.

he asked me what movie i wanted to watch. i looked through his collection and couldn't find anything that jumped out at me. he told me to go look through the dvds that he keeps in his closet.

immediately, i'm thinking, what, besides porn, would he have in the closet?! neverminding the fact that i also keep a box of dvds in my closet--the ones i'm unwilling to lend to anyone (how weird is it that we both do that?).

as soon as i open the door, i see it. firefly box set. it's perfect.

i rush back into the living room, waving the case about and saying, "you love joss whedon too?!"

his eyes grow wide and he breathes, "you actually know who he is?"

"der, how many times have you heard me quote Buffy?"

"it all makes sense now. wanna watch it?"

"yes!"

just thinking about it brings a tear to my eye. andplus...he dug out a photo of himself from a few halloweens ago as malcolm reynolds. i don't know what he can do to improve upon himself.

so our nerdness is so compatible that it's frightening. what silly little things make you feel closer to your partner?

he asked me to watch a very special tv series with him--that's way more intimate than asking to marry him. ;)

I got it but when people match in such things, greater things follow.

For what it's worth, I introduced my husband to Firefly back when we were still just friends. We were dating within a month. Married a few years later.

Not saying that it was causal... but it didn't hurt :)

I saw Avengers on Monday. It was the movie my inner 14-year old has been waiting for since I was 14 and I didn't come down off the nerd high from watching it until at least a couple days later.
