Claire and a cyber candle light vigil?

Quote  |  Reply

Tomorrow night- Sunday August 28th, I intend to hold a candle light vigil for Claire.  I'll light my oil lamp from 6 to 9 p.m.  I want to celebrate Claire.  I want to honor her and I want to welcome her into the Light and banish the Dark.  Don't care how New Age that sounds.  Through the mystery of cyber space this lady has touched me and cheered me on to a better me.  Now its her turn.  I want to cheer her on to a better place.

If anyone wants to join me, feel free and welcome.  If you don't have a candle or oil lamp, turn on your porch light or a night light or even a flashlight.  Thank you, dear Claire.  Know that I am with you as you head toward that warm loving Light.

Oh no, what has happened?

Edit: I just caught wind. I'm so sad. I will join you in the candle lighting. :(

Go to Spoiled Candy's journal.

I will light a candle tomorrow (Sunday the 29th) in honor of Claire. It does not sound New Age as much as it sounds like a friend providing the comfort of her company to one who has made a great difference in her life. Claire has many friends here and no matter where we live, we can share some time with her while she is in hospice.

This is really sad news. I can't believe this is happening.

I will light a candle tomorrow in honor of Claire.

she is in my prayers.

I'll be traveling tomorrow night, but I'll light a candle tonight and keep her in my heart and mind tomorrow.  I feel very sad to hear this news.

What will be happening is friends honoring a friend. If that needs a title, so be it, this expression of love for a fellow friend.

Thank you Claire for being such a wonderful person.  Your kindness and wisdom will not be forgotten.  May Claires family and friends feel the comfort we are offering.

Very sad. We'll get in touch with Claire's daughter and will offer to coordinate the flowers and donations from the community. I'll be posting updates in my journal.

Very sad news indeed.  I too shall light a candle for Claire tonight.

I feel so very fortunate that I got to meet Claire in person quite a few times.  First at a CC meet-up in D.C. back in Aug 2007 and then a few more times at the Grower's Market near where she lived.

We shared a love of cooking and fresh foods and it was so much fun to go to the Market with her. Local friends would look at me funny when I said I drove over an hour to a Grower's Market, especially when we have a few much closer ones. It wasn't about the produce; it was about time with Claire.   Special times that I hold very close to me this day as I mourn her passing.

Rest in Peace, dear friend.  I shall miss you!!

That's exactly where I had met her (and you as well). For about a year, we had a weekly call with Claire and I remember always feeling inspired after talking to her. She will be very missed.

How sad.  She was one heck of a woman, and I always enjoyed her political viewpoints, especially since they were so different from my own.  My prayers go out to her family and her friends.  I'll light a candle for her tonight.

Even though I never got to meet Claire in person, she had a huge effect on my life.  When I first started this weight loss journey a year ago, she quickly became a friend and source of wisdom and advice.  Her comments were always so encouraging to me and she taught me a lot about life.

I'm really really gonna miss her....

Sarah just sent the funeral info. I posted it in my blog in case you want to send flowers or a donation.

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
