(With all apologies to Radiohead, both for the topic title and my ham-fasted abortion of a cover that I do with my putative guitar skills)

I crave bacon, but there's none in the house. That makes me a sad panda.

Everything is good in moderation.

Except liver and onions.

And beets.

And pickeled eggs.

But other than that....

what about pickled beets? cause i <3 them.

Bacon is too expensive. I just eat those stripy crisp things that are ment to taste like bacon but really dont. At all. Still yummy though.

Good morning all!

That stuff is so good.

Yes, $7.00 for a pound of bacon (that probably isn't a full pound anyway!) is entirely too expensive! What the heck happened to the pork industry is what I want to know?!

*drools all over chat*

Sorry!  It was the mere thought of peppered bacon.

Right now, though, I want jerky.

A whole pound of bacon? I'm not sure what that looks like, I just see packets with about 6 wafer thin strips, and they are still about £3! Man, I want me a whole pound of bacon.

I had some awesome jerky on Saturday.  We have a local farm that comes each week and sells all organic beef, pork and chicken.  They had some jerky, kind of pricey, $5 for about 1/2 of what you can get at the store, but the flavor was amazingly better!!

Also got ground beef buy one get one 1/2 price, so can't wait to make burgers with that!

Oh man, pepper corned jerky, mmmm. I can't wait to go back home and be able to get ace food. There is no Costco here, it drives me nuts.

That is just all kinds of wrong!  Now I can't focus!!

*tries to hush tummy grumbles*

I'm annoyed this morning.

1) Program head has audit and all kinds of "urgent" things I have to do because he gets super obsessive about his files when there's an audit.  If he was super obsessive about his files BEFORE the audit, we wouldn't have to do the last minute scramble.

2) Intern plopped down at my co-workers desk right next to me and is using it.  We have an open concept office with workers who are usually in the community and with too many employees and not enough work stations people often share desks.  But her desk is in a private corner and is clearly not that of a part-time employee.  I want to kick the intern out but don't feel like I have the right.

3) Front desk transferred me a call because the same co-worker is not here today.  I am not the catch all for every phone call.  If someone asks for a specific employee and that employee doesn't answer the phone then transfer them to effing voicemail.  And once I answered the call the woman refused to leave a voicemail and insisted I take a message, which I did not.  I am nobody's personal secretary.  Leave a damn voicemail or call back when the person is in the office.

Most people who call here actually ask for the other person's voicemail.  We don't have individual voicemails, so we have to take messages.

You shop in the wrong places. Brits have way more and better bacon than we do here, and I can get a pound for cheap ;)

'course, it's a slab, not pre-cut, but that way you can adjust thickness yourself ;)

Everyone here has voicemail.  People who don't even have phones or desks have voicemail.

So I'm off to our University's "Health Promotions for Faculty and Staff" to let them assess me and tell me just how out of shape I really am!Undecided Wish me luck!
