While creating woman, God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the world.

what a dumb@$$!

moral of the story: god's a liar and there is no such thing as a good woman :D

No such thing as a good AND obedient woman....they are two very different things Wink

lol,

Ah, I can be GOOD and Obedient with the right incentive, and desire Wink (that's what counts), but a good and obedient WIFE, just ain't gonna happen.

And everything depends on your interpretation of the words "good" and "obedient"

I am good to myself and obedient in giving myself what I need and I am a wife...sooooooooo...........I guess that makes me a good and obedient wife!! :)

Agree with karijos.

I'm good (er, reasonably so. Not perfect.)

I'm obedient... to my moral code and common sense.

I'm all for following husband's suggestions when he has good ideas. Does that count as obedient? :-)

For that god has to actually exist, what if they were talking about only one woman and you just had to make the effort to find her? What if you actually had already met her but she just wasn't so good for you or you simply weren't good to her and she felt she could find better

When I got married I took those vows very seriously. I stuck with my ex husband through the emotional abuse, financial disaster etc. I stuck with him through good, bad, rich, poor and every other scenario mentioned in those vows and got him back on his own feet before finally saying enough was enough. I did everything he asked, even when I knew it was wrong and ridiculous. I do the same for every boyfriend or man I'm with because I find joy in making my partners happy and I was brought up in a traditional house knowing my place as a female to her husband according to tradition set in books written thousands of years before my time. And do you think one single damn man of them has ever appreciated it and NOT abused it to high heaven that I never queried, was fiercely loyal and always dependably did what was asked.

No. And that is why good women turn into bad ones, because what's the point in trying if you don't get the same in return you might as well be selfish. That's why there are more bad women than good ones because somewhere along the line they got screwed by a man once too many times. I haven't reached that point yet, I still believe there is someone out there who can appreciate the goodness in me, but until I find them I'm wasting it on the bad ones who don't deserve it.

dsam, I think you're taking the joke a little too seriously.

It could just as easily be said that the real joke is on the men who actually believed that wives were supposed to only behave by their particular patriarchal norms, and "god" pulled a switcheroo:  "phsyche!  hahahahaha!"

That could be about 99% of the cause of your bitterness and anger.  The Bible also has this saying about pearls before swine.  Maybe you should combine the two principles.  First you should laugh at the joke though, 'cuz that's the point of the thread.  :)

There are more bad women than good women?

You know there are what, roughly 3.5 billion women in the world right now.  And you' think that 1.785 billion of them are bad? If so, we're doomed. Doomed!

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
