So who here has had problems with Experian, or had a similar situation happen to them?  The problem is that I got my first ever credit report with Experian.  Now they are saying that by getting my credit report there I had signed up for the free 30 day trial where after the thirty days they automatically sign you up for the membership, unless of course you call to cancel.  Well today I had them cancel the account but they won't refund my money!  I had nothing to do with them since the first encounter.  Please help a poor 21 year old swim through the ocean of money.  I would appreciate advice, stories, anything.

Yes, they did the same thing to me. I had to call them three times before it finally got cancelled
Only use this link below to try to get your credit report on line.  It has the three different creditors and it is truely free.  I have used this before.  Now if you want your credit score you will pay for that, but you can download and print your credit report at no charge.

Actually I use all 3 credit reports, you get 1 free every 12 months so if you use experian in January, then Transunion in May, then equifax September you can cirle back around to experian in January.  I keep up to make sure nothing is wrong that way.

I got this link thru Suze Ormands web site...It will take you directly to a site for free credit reports.  I'm sorry you are having trouble.

Wow!  I swear I just signed up for the 30 day trail thing yesterday.  I needed to know my score for a job that I was going to try to pursue.  I'm going to go and cancel right away, because God knows I can't afford to pay for anything extras right now.

Thanks for this post!!!
royal1, when you call to cancel make sure you get a name or a confirmation number or something because I called right away too and my credit card still got charged :(
hey there was actually a class action suit about that.    try googling it and maybe you can find a way to get your money back, besides just bothering the heck out of them (which by the way is pretty effective).

also remember that if you are using a credit card, you can dispute the charge.  b/c of the class action, the investigation by the credit card co. might come out more in your favor.

luck!
Thanks for everything guys!  I'll continue to bother them for a refund and hope it works.  I'll call my credit card company tomorrow to see what they can do about it.  I'm glad I could help someone from making the same mistake as me.  Good Luck royal1 and I hope that everything turns out ok.
