Anything which just shouldn't be put together or done across the board not just in dress.

Mens shirts

Top button fastened with no tie! = Looks like you can't afford a tie, it just looks wrong guys.

Women

Chunky boots with leggings = Your feet look out of proportion to the rest of you.

Seriously. I do not get the big boot thing...ugs look ugly to me.

And those teensy Olsen twins with the oversized clothing on...surely they could afford a tailor?

i have a problem with people wearing socks and sandals together. my thought is: if it's warm enough to be wearing sandals, ditch the socks. if it's too cold to go without socks, put shoes on.

I find any footwear you can't run in to be foolishly impractical.

Flip flops with formal wear.

I don't know where the line is between "faux pas" and "things I find irritating", but that just looks wrong.

I like the big boot thing! Wish I could pull that off. :(

same. too bad my short stubby legs look like tree trunks ><

I don't understand skinny jeans.   I get leggings...  but skinny jeans don't look right to me (especially on men).

The socks/sandals thing is seconded.

I just wonder how the guys can fit their legs in the skinny jeans.

Enough to warrant a riot, apparently.   :)

Yeah I'm not keen on skinny jeans anyway, but on men they just seem to look NO!

I like boots...just not with leggings (cotton) not everyone should wear leggings.

Skinny jeans look nice with big boots! :P

I don't really care for skinny jeans either. If I had a pair, I'd roll them up a bit at the ankles and wear sandals/converse with a little ankle showing. I prefer flare/boot cut jeans.

And leggings as pants. That's like wearing tights as pants. Or nylons/hosiery. Leggings should be worn under a large shirt (that covers your ass), a skirt/dress or shorts. I think they look really nice under a pair of shorts that have torns in it. :)

I wish I could pull off leggings too. Maybe some day.

I don't mind the socks/sandal things if it's adidas massage sandals. They hurt without socks unless they're really really worn down.

skinny jeans are ok if worn by someone who can pull them off

crocs are bad but i think they have slowly faded out

I hate the boots that girls wear that cost a fortune..I think they are called bogs and they look like colourful rainboots they aren't practical or professional (if you work in a professional environment) they also have the cheap knock offs that look worse but that's just my taste

i hate jeans and white running shoes but I know i am highly out numbered on that one so i think that one is just me hahahah

I think i hate leggings because it reminds me of the 80's..as well as the new coloured bright sknny jeans that are coming out.. i hate them! but again it just reminds me of the 80's.

Amen to the bolded above!

And boots with shorts. That makes no sense.

And it's just me because I see it a lot, but I think shorts with a long sleeve top looks silly.

Oh come on...  the 80's were totally rad!  (Kidding, of course).

Speaking of the 80's, I saw leg warmers on sale at DSW (shoe store) recently.   So yeah, leg warmers.  Add those to my list.

Plastic looking heels.  Especially white plastic looking heels.  Unless they were $2, I'm pretty sure you can find something equally cheap that doesn't look equally cheap.

Any and all ill fitting clothing.  If it must be ill fitting, which some people seem intent on, please let it be ill fitting in a too big way.  Ill fitting bras will make whatever shirt you're wearing look stupid.  Ill fitting shirts will give you a major muffin top.  Ill fitting shorts will blind me.

Lip liner that never fades paired with lipstick that doesn't last.

Kids faux pas--Velcro light up shoes.

I am with you on you say here especially the white sneakers with jeans.  I thought I was alone with that one.

Well I know bras can be expensive, but I always think it must be well worth women getting properly fitted and replacing their bars when the lycra starts to give up. When ladies are wearing bra under a tight top that has too small a cup size, they end up with six boobs!

Even when I was at my fattest, I made a point of getting trousers that would fit around my ample gut. Now they are expensive, but undergut trousering looks silly in my view, and makes your belly look even worse. Particulalry if there is a gap twixt shirt and waist band with a half moon of pink gut showing!

i don't buy the fashion of jeans slung nearly at the thighs and showing the top of your underpants. Why?

Skinny jeans are for the implied customers -SKINNY. I'm torn on the skinny jeans for the guys; although effeminate, is it better than having them 6 times too big? I have a tween and a 9 yr old, both girls, and I've been priming them for years, pointing out faux pas. Asking them what they thought, what that person should've done, etc. I have a real issue with seeing muffin top, or people pulling their shirts or shorts because they don't fit right. Ive told my kids that I WILL take a pic of them from the back so they actually see what's really going on, and that they should never let their sister/friend/me do out looking bad. EVER. Media puts super unrealistic images out there, but the reality is that clothes that don't fit right are bad period.

The more the better, right?

(Also, bonus points for using the word "twixt")
