I'll go for question 15- I'd take my ipod, a laptop or journal of some sort and....

hmm......

It's always the final choice that is tricky. Does George Clooney count as a personal item?

1. What's something you've seen or done you wish you could get out of your mind? Letting a good friend get in the way of what I truly believed and who I truly was. She influenced me in bad ways, and it seriously damaged my relationship with my parents - especially my mom. I look back and remember my mom calling me, bawling, begging for me to pick up the phone... and I ignored her. Day after day. I treated her like she was a nobody and all she wanted to do was talk to her little girl. I regret every minute of letting that friend influencing me in those ways. Thankfully, we are out of each other's lives, and my relationship with my mom is better than ever.

2. If you had one day to live over again, what day would you pick? Hmm. There are so many I would like to relive... for the good times, or to either learn from the tough times.

3. What adult, other than your parent(s), would you turn to if you needed help? Why? My fiance, Curtis, or my good friend Heather. Curtis is my confidante, my everything. He listens to everything I have to say and never judges. Heather is the same way, I can go to her for anything and know she will have something good to offer me.

4. Do you have any musical ability? Heck no! I played the violin for 4 years in middle school, trying to convince myself and others that I was good. Finally I realized I was terrible and quit. Haha

5. What's your favorite Web site? Why? Facebook. MySpace. Because I'm young and recently graduated college...! I also enjoy CC (obviously!), and any site that has to do with gymnastics.

6. Have you ever built anything? What was it? How did you feel when you finished? Yes! In woodshop class in middle school. I made a nice pencil box. Then I built a TV stand. Woohoo!

7. When and what have you collected during your life? Keychains from everywhere I've been. I traveled a lot for gymnastics and would always get a keychain from whereever I went.

8, If your house was on fire and you could choose only one thing to save (besides family members and pets), what would it be? Why?  My pictures. I need the memories.

9. Have you ever seen a falling star? Did you make a wish? What was it? I've seen several falling stars... and cannot remember any of my wishes. :)

10. Which do you like better-sunrise or sunset? Why? Sunset. It's romantic :) Although my fiance doesn't know the meaning of the word, hah.

11. What's your favorite part of a newspaper? Why? Local news. I don't know. I read everything. I watch the news more though than read the newspaper. Ok I lied, my favorite part is the Sunday ads!

12. Have you ever received an award for anything? If so, what was it, and how did it feel to get it? Well, my full athletic scholarship to college was an award that I'll never forget. Signing that letter of intent showed me how those rigorous hours of training, tears, laughter, and injuries really can pay off in the end.

13. Do you belong to any clubs? Why or why not? No clubs.

14. Are your grandparents still living? If so, what do you like best about them? If not, what's your favorite memory of them? I have one grandmother still alive. And she's the most heartfelt woman I've ever met and I love her with all my heart. As for my deceased grandparents... my grandfather Orville - we had a special thing. Since the day I can remember (I'm pretty sure since I could walk), on Christmas Day we would wear matching Santa hats and he would hand me the gifts and cards to pass out to everyone. This continued through my teen years (not even the great grandkids took that job away!), and when my grandfather died, my grandma gave me the Santa hat I always wore to keep. And my other grandparents, my mom's side. They were such family people. One of my most vivid memories is going to their apartment when I was little to sleepover. I was so excited to be sleeping at gramma and grampa's. They gave me a big bag of blow pops, and we went in the pool. Oh, I love memories! RIP Grandma & Grandpa Baker, Grandpa Lee

15. Let's say you were sent to live on a space station for three months and you were allowed to bring only three personal items with you-what would they be? Well, I would definitely have to bring Curtis. I just couldn't live without him for 3 months. I think I would bring my iPod, cause I need music and can't stand silence. And chapstick. I always have to have it with me... and you never know how chapped my lips will get on that space station!

1. What's something you've seen or done you wish you could get out of your mind?  I let my mouth run away with me and said something that came out wrong and really hurt somebody.

2. If you had one day to live over again, what day would you pick? Why? I would kiss him instead of turning away.

3. What adult, other than your parent(s), would you turn to if you needed help? Why? I have a large support network, but I would go to my husband first.

4. Do you have any musical ability? If so, what do you enjoy about it? If not, what skill would you love to learn? I sing and play piano. I enjoy being useful (it comes in handy more than you'd think)

5. What's your favorite Web site? Why? www.cuteoverload.com because it makes me smile

6. Have you ever built anything? What was it? How did you feel when you finished? I've built lots of things, but I'm most proud of my cats' playhouse.  I felt like a big nerd because I spent days on something that would only be enjoyed by furballs.

7. When and what have you collected during your life? When I was little I accidentally started collected heart-shaped boxes.  Later it was turtles.

8, If your house was on fire and you could choose only one thing to save (besides family members and pets), what would it be? Why? My purse, because it has everything in it.

9. Have you ever seen a falling star? Did you make a wish? What was it? Yes, yes, and I don't remember.

10. Which do you like better-sunrise or sunset? Why? Sunrises make me feel like I've gotten the jump on the day.

11. What's your favorite part of a newspaper? Why? The classifieds, because they make me laugh

12. Have you ever received an award for anything? If so, what was it, and how did it feel to get it?  I won lots of medals in music competitions, and I could never stop smiling when I got gold.

13. Do you belong to any clubs? Why or why not? Not at the moment, I don't like the responsibility

14. Are your grandparents still living? If so, what do you like best about them? If not, what's your favorite memory of them? My grandfather on one side, and both on the other.  My grandfather helped raise me and we have a very special bond.

15. Let's say you were sent to live on a space station for three months and you were allowed to bring only three personal items with vou-what would they be? Ipod, laptop (with lots of novels and comics and movies, etc.), and a resistance band for exercise.

1. What's something you've seen or done you wish you could get out of your mind? An incident in my childhood involving my alcoholic father being aggressive towards my mother.  He’s been sober for many years, but I still remember that incident.

2. If you had one day to live over again, what day would you pick? Why? If I thought about it for a while, I could pick many, but off the top of my head right now I would say my 17th birthday – went to see a Card’s game with my family, they won, and Ozzie Smith did two backflips.  I just remember that being a very good day.

3. What adult, other than your parent(s), would you turn to if you needed help? Why? Either my hubby or my Mother in-law, because ever since I’ve met either of them they've been completely frank and honest with me, and very understanding.

4. Do you have any musical ability? If so, what do you enjoy about it? If not, what skill would you love to learn? I have a musically related ability in that I know how to tap dance (although it’s been quite a few years since I performed at all, but I haven’t forgotten.)  I think it would be cool to try and learn the piano.

5. What's your favorite Web site? Why? It’s a toss up between CC and Working For Change – I like the support and ideas I get at CC for getting healthy, and I like the progressive news and articles on WFC.

6. Have you ever built anything? What was it? How did you feel when you finished? I’ve made things, not necessarily “built” – I like to cross stitch, and when I finished a very large “home sweet home” project and put it on our wall, I finally thought of our new house as our home.

7. When and what have you collected during your life? Through early high school I had a thing for black and white animals (cows, penguins, zebras), and I have a collection of stuffed animals and figurines - not so much into that anymore.  Right after my great aunt died about 14 years ago, I inherited her teacup collection – a vast collection of cups and saucers from her and her friends’ travels all over the world.  I started learning about fine china, and I'm continuing to build to the collection.

8, If your house was on fire and you could choose only one thing to save (besides family members and pets), what would it be? Why? It may not seem sentimental, but our computer.  It not only has all our financial information and history on it, but all of our family pictures.

9. Have you ever seen a falling star? Did you make a wish? What was it?  Yes, and no, did not make a wish.  I’ve been accused of being cold, but it’s just a piece of rock (meteor) burning up in the atmosphere.  Sure, it’s pretty, but I never understood why wishing on it would make the wish any more likely to come true.

10. Which do you like better-sunrise or sunset? Why? Sunrise – because it’s the beginning of a brand new day.

11. What's your favorite part of a newspaper? Why?  Editorials, because I like to read other people’s opinions – it helps me look at other ways of seeing things.

12. Have you ever received an award for anything? If so, what was it, and how did it feel to get it? I got an award from NASA for a science fair project my senior year of high school, and it felt pretty cool.  I knew then that I wanted to go to engineering school.

13. Do you belong to any clubs? Why or why not? Not so much a club, but a professional society because it helps me network with other people in my field and get discounts on society publications.  I kind of consider CC a club, of sorts, just a free one.

14. Are your grandparents still living? If so, what do you like best about them? If not, what's your favorite memory of them? All of my grandparents are deceased, and I really only got to develop a relationship with one of them.  My fondest memory of my Oma (grandmother) is arriving at her unairconditioned Texas farmhouse in the middle of July, with her standing over the stove making me her chicken noodle soup because she knew it was my favorite.

15. Let's say you were sent to live on a space station for three months and you were allowed to bring only three personal items with vou-what would they be?  Well, I would prefer to not be away from my family that long, but if I had to:  My computer (either home or work – but I think I would have a hard time getting hubby to part with the one at home), resistance bands, 3 month supply of deep chocolate vitatops.  I wouldn’t count my hubby and two boys as “personal items”, and wouldn’t want to subject them to that anyway – my boys would get bored pretty fast.

4. Do you have any musical ability? If so, what do you enjoy about it? 1. What's something you've seen or done you wish you could get out of your mind?
Too many things! And I'd rather not say.. because I'm busy getting them out of my mind. :-)

2. If you had one day to live over again, what day would you pick? Why? I have had many wonderful days in my life, so it's really hard to pick just one. But if I must, there is one day ... and let's just say I'd pick it because I have obsessed over it for a long time. A "do-over" would let me test out my theories.. does he love me.. does he love me not. :-) But maybe I don't want to relive it and have my answer yes or no.. because either answer wouldn't be as fun as obsessing about it has been! (Does that make sense???)

3. What adult, other than your parent(s), would you turn to if you needed help? Why? My dear husband (DH), because I trust him and know he'd be there for me. And several close friends, for the very same reason.

4. Do you have any musical ability? If so, what do you enjoy about it? If not, what skill would you love to learn? I have played instruments in the past, but I don't have any special ability, except I do think I have a good ear for music. The one skill I'd love to have is to be a good singer. I once prayed that God would make me a better singer. And then I became a mom, and I sang to my babies every night. I do think God answered my prayers, and I am a much-improved singer (although I'll never be a professional or anything... I'm at least now "passable" and "not horribly embarrassing.")

5. What's your favorite Web site? Why? I have too many favs, but let's say Google. I like to search. Wikipedia is becoming a close second.

6. Have you ever built anything? What was it? How did you feel when you finished? Interesting question. Let's say... not really. I get too impatient and bored before I finish!

7. When and what have you collected during your life? Old dairies, and clothes. I let everything else go.

8, If your house was on fire and you could choose only one thing to save (besides family members and pets), what would it be? Why? My favorite clothing - the items that would be really hard to replace. Why - because it takes me a lot of endless trying on to find clothes that fit and flatter my 5'0" oddly shaped frame. I become extremely attached to certain favorite items.

9. Have you ever seen a falling star? Did you make a wish? What was it? I have seen a lot of falling stars, and always wish on them. Partly this is because at 5'0" tall, I am always in the habit of looking up. :-)

The other part is that my bday is during the annual Perseid meteor showers. I remember my parents waking me up at 4 AM on my 8th bday, and dragging me outside to witness the meteors. The entire sky was falling. I thought my parents must be all-powerful, to make the sky fall for my birthday present!!!

Ever since, I have seen at least one falling star per year, often more (if it's not cloudy in August). And I do make wishes... and most of them have come true. I can't tell you the wishes, or else they'll stop coming true!!!

10. Which do you like better-sunrise or sunset? Why? Oooh... good question! I think I like sunrise more, because as a night owl I see sunrises far less infrequently! And sunrises remind me of one particular morning in college, waking up on a beach in NJ after an all-night drive...

11. What's your favorite part of a newspaper? Why? I no longer read newspapers. I get my news on Google (see #5).

12. Have you ever received an award for anything? If so, what was it, and how did it feel to get it?  Let's see... I won an award in high school, an AAUW award for oustanding achievement (not just academic - something about being well rounded, yaddah yaddah). Another was in college, purely academic - a university scholar award. I didn't think either one was a big deal - I think I was mostly embarrassed. I was up for a career award in recent years, but I lost out. With that one, I was thoroughly flattered just to be nominated (I was nominated by an old boss who I respect immensely, and who I always thought hated me - go figure!). But in general, I don't live my life trying to win awards.

13. Do you belong to any clubs? Why or why not? No. Clubs aren't my thing. If I was to join one, it would be a running club.

14. Are your grandparents still living? If so, what do you like best about them? If not, what's your favorite memory of them? No, sadly, none are alive. I have fond memories of my grandpa teaching me my mathematical tables, before he became ill. I have fond memories of a conversation with my grandma after I decided to divorce, I was afraid of her judgement - instead she told me that she had always thought he was a schmuck and not worthy of me. Hee he!

And my other grandma made a mean pot roast and always had interesting books lying about the house; she died when I was too young to appreciate her. I didn't know my other grandpa because he committed suicide when my dad was a teen. I have tons of wonderful memories about my great-grandma who would sit me on her lap and tell me fanciful stories. I also have scary memories visiting her in the "home" when she was 97 years old, and didn't recognize me. (I was probably about 11 or 12).

I work very hard cultivating the relationship between my parents, and my children, because it's a really important one, and I think I missed out a lot.

15. Let's say you were sent to live on a space station for three months and you were allowed to bring only three personal items with vou-what would they be? 1) my favorite sweat suit (I'd want to be comfortable!), 2) lipstick or chapstick - because my lips get too dry without and 3) a photo of my family!

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
