i can haz nap too?!

Guess what happened to me today at work!!!!

So most of you know how anti-social I am, well in the next couple of months my desk is being moved to a remote corner of the building and my job title is going to change! I will no longer be the graphic designer/receptionist! Just GD!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!

Oooh you're a graphic designer! That's so cool! It's on my list of courses to take "just in case" I change my mind on the art teacher thing.

What kind of work do you? You can be vague if you want... I don't know any graphic designers. :/ I'm just curious what kind of work you're doing on a daily basis. Is it boring? Does your brain need to be creative all the time? Sometimes I go through moments where my creativity literally disappears for weeks... then comes back with a vengeance. Me no comprende.

No nap for me either ... someone else must have had the same idea. Wellness room occupied. I wish there were more places to hide around here haha

It can be boring. I work at a school. I do all their print pieces. Brochures, fliers, mailers, floor graphics (like huge stickers that stick to the carpet), window graphics, catalogs, t-shirts...

I recently got to work on a pretty exciting piece though. We are rolling out a new pre-engineering program next fall and I did some really neat stuff for that. The best thing is when you're out in public and you see someone wearing a t-shirt you designed or carrying a print piece you worked on.

It's a pretty satisfying job. It can be tough to be creative ALL the time but I have a really great boss and we click really well so we're able to bounce ideas off each other.

The worst part is this receptionist bit. It is extremely difficult to have the creative process constantly interrupted.

That does sound neat! I enjoyed the small amount of graphic design courses I took in high school so I imagine the ones at my college will be even better.

Congrats on your new position! :DDD

Really? Or are you being silly?

If you're being serious, what is wrong!?!?

i'm arguing on a STUPID facebook status posted by a friend over drug addiction being a disease, not a choice.

this asshair is saying, "Addiction is VERY MUCH a choice. It's a choice that got you in a situation where you become addicted. Each time an addict cleans up, it's another choice to relapse. The notion that people are not responsible for their own actions is a line of BS fed to us by bleeding hearts who habitually displace blame."

I said "wow... just wow. Addiction is a disease".

He said "Addiction is a behavior, not a disease. if it was a disease, no one would be able to make the choice to clean up and walk away from it."

I said "your ignorance is astounding".

I'm shoved in my own corner at work.  It is awesome :)
