Good bye Maurice
I mainly know his children's books - Where the Wild Things Are is such a classic.
He will be missed.
I heard about that this morning...I think we should hold a Wild Rumpus in his honor.
I loved Where the Wild Things Are! Definitely a voice that will be missed.
I'll eat you up, I love you so.

an idea he would endorse!
:)
How about a little love for Goober?
I did read "Where the Wild Ones Are" to every one of my children and nieces.
wow. this makes me sadder than I thought. :(
His interview with Stephen Colbert only increased my respect for him. Your typical rose-colored-sunglasses-wearing hippie children's book author, he was not.
You're started already by being an idiot.
Truth. Ironic that he didn't much like Where The Wild Things Are.
It was also fun that he felt that he didn't choose to write children's books. Rather, he thought publishers shoved his books into the genre.

Didn't he also write the "Little Bear" series? I loved it.
It's a sad loss.
So loved his books. Many, many fond memories of reading them to/with DD and sometimes, just because I wanted to read them myself.
RIP Maurice.
