my head is too small in proportion to my body

Quote  |  Reply

i was walking toward my friend down the hall when we spotted each other, but when i reached her she was laughing so hard.

"what's so funny?" i asked.

"your head is so small!"  she screamed.  i was stunned and close to tears.

i asked my brother, my mom, my other friend, my boyfriend.... they all agreed but added "it's cute" or something pathetic like that.

i can change my body, but what the HELL can i do with my face????  i can't enlarge my head!  i'm screwed.

i'm 5'8, 155 lbs.  i'm athletic with broad shoulders and broad hips.  i think my body wouldn't look huge if my head was larger, or my head wouldn't look so small if my body wasn't too fat.

I'm sure your head is fine. I wouldn't worry about it.

I guess you could always poof up your hair...but I doubt it is really a big deal.

And tell your friend that it was a hurtful comment.  She should know better.

One of the kids I worked with used to call me "Big Headed Woman."

It made me giggle.

Don't take it hard - if it was seriously strange looking or unattractive your friends and family wouldn't talk about it/laugh about it (unless you have really mean friends and family members).  They would whisper about it behind your back.

And by the way, now I want to see a picture.

I'm a horrible person, I know.

My friend has a really small head too! And she is close to 5'10" around 140lbs. I guess you just have to accept it. Sometimes it helps when she makes her hair seem bigger by curling it

Head size? I've truly never considered someone's head size normal or abnormal. All the hurtful and inappropriate things people say are usually ego driven. They bash on others in attempt to feel better about themselves, imho.

I suggest setting limits by (saying no) and standing up for yourself. Prepare yourself mentally for those times when people try to tear you down. Don't let people tear you down to build themselves up. By the way: Some people just share humor in bad taste. And/or: In reality they're jealous/envious of you. Either way: Stand up for yourself by expressing the way it made you feel.

It sounds like they need to learn kindness and tact.

You can wear clothes that play up your head and make it appear more in proportion. Same with hair (as mentioned above) and makeup. Don't worry about it too much! It is, what it is. Think of all of the truly important things in life, like the soldiers that are missing their arms or legs.....

I have a giant freak head.  Sucks but there isn't anything you can do.

I have a pigmie head compared to my husband and kids. I figure they aren't ginormously headed, but mine is smaller than average.

On the plus side, just think of all the opportunity you have for slamming those who notice your head size!

*thinks up all kinds of funny insults relating to people with big heads*

- er...not counting pav and jewels of course, just the meanies with big heads :D

My daughter was born full term and perfectly healthy. However, she was small for gestational age. ( an SGA baby. ) An SGA baby's birth weight lies below the 10th percentile for gestational age. On the flip side: Her head has always been bigger than 95% of kids her age. Her body has always been smaller than 90-95 percent of kids her age. Meaning she's always been in the 10 percentile or below.

The truth is I've never looked at her and though " Wow. Big head. "

I don't think you'd worry so much what people think of your head... If you knew how rarely anyone ever does.

" I bet your mother had a hell of a time giving birth to you. "

Wear big hair?

How old are you? You don't stop growing till well into your 20s.

Edit: I wanted to say that I have a huge head too. I hate it but I've been over it for years. Screw hats, I say!

I have the same problem and I am starting to get depressed about it.  I didn't realize it was this drastic until I cut my hair really short and I have a skinny face with huge hips and football player shoulders.  Not a good look at all.  Prior to having two kids I was more fit and about 50 pounds lighter.  It seems that I gained weight in every area, accept for my head area.

I agree, we certainly can not change our faces.  I guess I could always loose the weight, being that my face and head never gains or looses weight.

There is nothing wrong with a teeny head (unless you have microcephaly). Look at Dwight Howard. You just have to rock what you got.
