HELP!! I'm freaking out!!!
i was just cooking and I accidently cut myself in between my fingers about an inch deep with a butcher knife! The skin is OPEN and you can see inside!! It hurts really bad, and I'm alone in the country, with no transportation! I'm so scared and it hurts really bad, I don't know what to do!
If u have insurance call ur nurse line they should be able to help you. As well as ur doctors if u give them a call.
The only thing I know to say is make sure you clean it well and stop the bleeding if it hasn't stopped already.
Good luck
Relax. Clean it as best you can with soap and water. If you have any antibacterial spray, like bactein, spray that in there. If you think someone will come home soon, wrap it really well with a CLEAN towel, and hold it above your head until someone can take you to a doctor. If you're realy stuck, and you don't think anyone is going to come home soon, you can super glue the cut shut. It will stop the bleeding until you can get stiches if needed. My husband and I are both chefs, and we use super glue on cuts all the time. You have 48 hours to get stiches if you need them. Don't worry, and good luck!
P.s. make sure you wrap it in a damp towel so it doesn't stick to the cut and tear the skin. Also, if you don't have any antibacterial spray, you can use saline solution or mix a little salt with warm water.
how are you doing?
i would tape those two fingers together once you get it bandaged just to keep it clean and not split the wound back open.
then i would drink a beer.

Not sure if this is sarcastic or not, but, yes, you can clean an open cut with soap.
I think it should be fine. You didn't mention bleeding profusely. If this is the case, just place firm pressure on it with a rag. Call for help in such a case.
If not, you should be fine. It will heal irregardless. Clean it well as aforementioned. I live in the country. I have a crazy husband. We have these accidents all the time. You can also close the wound after you cleaned it and apply dry bandage. You can also close it and apply crazy glue over the wound not inside.
I got a deep gash between my fingers from broken glass once and flushed it with antibacterial liquid (Bactine) and bandaged it with a non-stick pad and some paper tape. It did heal, but, in retrospect, I do wish I had gone to a doctor because the scar wound up pretty bad. If you can find some way to see the doctor, I would highly recommend it.

A beer? I'd be downing a bottle of scotch.
Sophie, I hope you're okay. Please let us know.
Wait...you had a minor medical emergency involving a cut inbetween fingers, and your first thought was to type? On calorie-count?
So...you have internet access, but no access to emergency services or a telephone?
I don't get it. :D

I would be pouring it on the wound after I cleaned it. It will hurt like hell, but will disinfect the crap out of it.
dnrothx- Yeah I was thinking the same thing, or at least why not google "cleaning/disinfecting open wound".

The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
