I mowed my lawn yesterday.  The experience is overrated.

My grass went dormant 6 weeks ago due to drought.  I'm not complaining but the farmers are.

I leave the lawn mowing to hubby these days.  I feel I did it enough, time for him to step up and do it :)

I would actually prefer a lawn of clover and various other short wildflowers.  Mowing the grass sucks.

We seem to be stuck in a drought/deluge cycle.

I'm starting to get multiple varieties of short weeds, that look pretty as ground cover. It's kind of neat the number of different varieties of plants that are thriving in my sandy Florida soil.

I've even got mint taking over in a shady spot by the house. :)

Plant different varieties of thyme. :)

I'm not going to Scarborough Fair.

Yesterday after work, I got on the scaffolds on the side of the house. The sky was overcast but nothing seemed threatening. I had a power saw in hand and was cutting when lightning struck really close by. I didn't feel any shock but the light was blinding and the noise was pretty close to a 80 mm mortar hit.

Didn't wet my pants but my heart was racing a bit.

No damage in the house but the internet connection was lost for about 15 minutes until the network equipment rebooted.

That was just a warning shot, Cajun.

Yeah. Mother Nature is fracking with me.

Lightening has to hit somewhere first.  Sucks when it's where you are.

Have you ticked off Thor recently?

Thor or Zeus?

Thor or Zeus?

Completely different mythology, so I suppose it depends on whether you wanna go Greek or Germanic.

Fracking's a dirty word up here.  Have to say that our esteemed governor's current plan is one for the books.  It's essentially:

"Alright Legislature, we're not going to approve hydrofracking broadbrush, but I've got a great idea!  Let's select targeted areas for drilling and go from there.  Oh, and the targeted areas are in the poorest regions of the Southern Tier where they're so desperate for jobs that they'll trade drinkable water for them!"

Zeus is busy chasin' earth women.

Thor can be arrested.

But Mother Nature is a mother.

We've got a huge drilling project shaping up in our county that will involve horizontal drilling and hydrofracking.  It's the elephant in the room.

*lists pros and cons*

Such a difficult decision.

Don't worry.  It won't make you sick, but it may cause an exodus.
