John Travolta

What do you think?

I love him.  And I wish that it took more than an allegation and some finger pointing and gossiping to defame a person.

I wish he could have some peace and privacy.  I wish people would show him some respect.  It seems like he's become a bit of a ragdoll for the media in the past few years.  Maybe it's because he doesn't fight back?  Maybe it's become he tends to keep such a calm demeanor and shys away from controversy?

I kind of consider him a legend.  And it makes me sick to see how giddy people are over this scandal.

In honor of John Travolta, and in addition to your response, please name your favorite Travolta movie/moment/scene!

When was the last time a famous person accused of rape/some other illegal activity was proven innocent in a court of law of all wrongdoing? I cannot remember a single case, though I don't keep up with those sort of things as much as the next person, so I'm interested to know if it happens.

While allegations may be exaggerated and after one true allegation more may come that are fabricated, there is always some truth in the first allegation to begin with. If you are famous you should know better than to put yourself in such positions.

i stopped liking him when i learned he was a scientologist. same for Tom Cruise.

Justin Beiber dodged a paternity suite with a DNA test.

Wouldn't a good first step in giving him peace and/or privacy be not bringing it up?

Last I checked, nobody (famous or otherwise) was ever provent innocent in a court of law.

I think he'll be cleared. His representatives have said he was on the other coast.

Vinnie Babarino.

Really?

I don't agree with the religion, but I still think he is an amazing actor.  And he seems like a really warm, genuine person.  I could be way off base, since clearly I don't know him, but that's just always been the vibe I've gotten.

I also think he is a million times more talented than stupid Tom Cruise.

That is true. I should have remembered that one.

Ok, I should have said "not guilty" instead of "innocent"

Oh you.

I was referring to the media hounds.  I doubt this will register on the Travolta radar.  But if you want, we can pretend I'm hanging out outside his house right now with a big camera, screaming nonsense and asking him humiliating personal questions.  And drinking something trendy from Starbucks.

You know what?

I don't remember the results of that ever being revealed.  I remember the allegations, the media hoopla, his response that he would have a test....and then what?

I could care less, but Opie and Anthony read some of the transcripts/testimony (or whatever...?) yesterday and it was HILARIOUS.  I do feel bad as I feel like he really has tried to keep a low profile.

I have lost all respect for him since we had to do what was called "the Travolta" in Zumba.  ;)  j/k.  mostly.

When did America stop loving Travolta?

Cry

I think he's an ***...like most famous people.  His wife is hot though.

My favorite Travolta movie is Pulp Fiction...and I like where he shot the black kid accidentally while talking with him.  His reaction was just priceless.

Actually...that's the only Travolta movie I like.

Yeah, i just find scientology so disgusting, and the celebrities who endorse it even more so, that I can't look at them the same anymore. it's not about the talent to me.

I think he's a lucky dude.  Not many get the career revival he did with Pulp Fiction.  I remember Kirstie Alley doing an interview where she said she had to explain to him that he was a "has been" (during the making of Look Who's Talking II -  or something like that).

I think he's a decent actor.  I couldn't care less about the scandal.  I must have my head in a hole, because I wasn't even aware of it.

Like most celebrity scandals, I don't really care other than the general hope that genuine justice is served.

And it's not that I stopped loving Travolta, but I never started in the first place.  I liked Saturday Night Fever, Grease, and Pulp Fiction, but that has little to do with any like or dislike of JT.  He's an actor that managed to give a decent performance in a few movies - it doesn't really warrant my adoration.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate him either - but what happens in the lives of any celebrity in general doesn't particularly concern me.

Awww, Look Who's Talking, I had forgotten about that.  I liked that movie.

I think John Travolta's career was revived with Look Who's Talking rather than Pulp Fiction.  I doubt he would have been on the radar for Pulp Fiction without the success of Look Who's Talking.

I think I developed some pretty serious attachments to the actors in the movies I watched as a kid.  Come to think of it, all of my favorites won me over in childhood.

John Travolta (Grease), Kevin Bacon (Footloose), Patrick Swayze (Dirty Dancing), Michael J. Fox (Doc Hollywood),  Andy Griffith (Matlock and Andy Griffith), Raymond Burr (Perry Mason), Gene Wilder (Willy Wonka), Harrison Ford (Star Wars).

All my guys are gettin' old.  And irrelevant, I suppose.

No.  Tarantino wanted someone else, but that guy was unavailable...  so he choose Travolta (because he agreed to a cheap salary).
