Leave us skinny fat people alone. WE ARE NOT ANOREXIC

Quote  |  Reply

fine. you all win. whatever. i know that im not anorexic and thats all that matters. i know what weight i have to lose and thats all that matters.

sorry if im under so much stress from losing a baby and being judged by faceless internet chatters who call me anorexic when im far from it. usually this wouldnt bother me but everything bothers me after the 'incident'. its too much for me. i know theres people who have much more weight than me to lose, but all i was trying to say was that dont judge other people without knowing the facts first. it can hurt peoples feelings.

i know i got very offensive, but i was offensive because i was defensive. you cant understand when someone is being defensive of themselves and just trying to explain themselves. so what if i was upset and angry, ive been through a lot. and then saying im not anorexic and then having more people say "uh, yes you are" just makes it worse. none of you know my body better than me, my doctor, or my trainer at the gym.

you are very mean people.

I'm personally more concerned about the drug use you noted in your journal. Especially since you had mentioned being pregnant (I'm terribly sorry for your loss, I truly am) and trying to concieve again.

People here are genuinely concerned about others in this community. We see a lot of eating disorders and a lot of younger folks with unhealthy eating habits. People are just concerned. Maybe you should consider, though, that doctors don't usually have to be well versed in weight management or nutrition, and that the people here are going by government standards for healthy weights. Maybe you should try to tone instead of lose. Just saying.

And as far as your fast, you can do whatever you want. I know the research I've found tells me otherwise, but if you're doing it for spiritual purposes, I won't say anything.

i stopped drugs before i found out i was pregnant, quite a while before, but since the miscarraige have started again. just thought id point that out, drugs didnt cause it.

and btw the doctor does know what hes talknig about. He works with overweight people to help them lose weight, I've been seeing him since I was almost 200 pounds.. He knows I still have some fat to get rid of or "replace" with muscle. so do i. so does the personal trainer i see at the gym. they have all seen my belly fat. if i showed u you would see it too and believe me, but im not about ready to expose my midsection to the world until im bikini ready. i am not trying to conceive again until after college. i cant tone pounds of fat, i can tone SOME fat. but the rest i have to lose. trust me, if u saw it you would be very surprised (the personal trainer was very surprised!)

and i know some people have EDs on this website, but that doesnt mean people can message anyone they think has an ED and tell them so, or comment on a PUBLIC PAGE because i find it embarrasing to me to be called anorexic. i mean, message me if you're really concerned and cant hold the undying urge any longer to tell me your unwanted opinions, but doing it publicly embarrasses me (mostly because i am not suffering from an ED)

I'm sorry you're offended!  It's true that some people can surprisingly carry a lot of fat for their weight.  When I was at a normal weight I still had some blubber around my middle that I just could not simply get rid of.  Now I'm just plain fat.  I've been reading a book lately that suggests that perhaps this excess fat is caused by insufficient numbers of mitochondria in your cells.  Mitochondria burn the fat that is in your cells, and for some reason in some people, they stop working as well, and more fat develops in your cells, and as new cells develop, they have even fewer mitochondria, exacerbating the problem!  I know it's confusing, but it's in this book called Dr. Neal Barnard's program for reversing diabetes.  It suggests adopting a vegan diet (no animal products, aka no saturated fats and cholesterol) and bulking up on fiber and low GI foods.  Supposedly this diet will fill you up and flush out the fat from your cells, allowing your metabolism to speed up and burn away the fat!  Remember though that you are beautiful no matter what weight you are or what's around your middle! :-)

I personally messaged a young woman who I was worried about and we still message these days. In our conversations, she was able to realize she had an ED and we found resources for her to seek out in help.

I obviously hadn't messaged you, but I don't think people who do it are doing it to be mean. At least not all are.

It's good to know your doctor has dealt with weight management and you've had this discussion with him. I'll say that most of the time I hear people talk about their doctors, they mean family doctors, and family doctors have little experience with these kinds of things. Anywho... best of luck to you.

And PS, I'm glad to hear you made the decision to stop using drugs before conception, I just hope you know that it doesn't just affect your body/reproductive organs while you're using...it can (I won't say it will) but it can have long lasting effects.

wow, i knew doctors knew alot, but i didn't know they were omniscient. -_-

hun, they don't even get the much training in medical school with regards to nutrition.

but anyways, carry on with your dieting. who am i to say when you should you be statisfied with yourself?

Laughing i feel MUCH better now that i know at least one person on the website understands skinny fat!
i just got so incredibly offended seeing someone publicly call me anorexic and i received messages tellign me im "borderline anorexic". i mean, they dont understand that some people, as you said, can carry surprisingly more fat for their weight. im no longer in tears, thank you p_fagan Laughing

hes not a family doctors, he's trained in weight loss and nutrition, as well as general health
. he works in an obesity clinic. i know i am not obese but i was having problems and he sees me on his personal time to help me (my mom is a patient of his)
thanks for your sarcasm, i appreciate it.

The reason people think you're anorexic is because you've photoshopped all the fat out of your pictures so they think you're actually that thin.

Oh, and I believe that you are skinny-fat. It's loose skin left over from your obese days.

screw what you think. i didnt photoshop any fat out, i photoshopped a tan on. thanks for judging me, i appreciate it. next time i want to feel like **** ill give u a call. now im pissed off again. i hate people so much. its NOT SKIN! HOW WOULD YOU KNOW, HUH? HAVE YOU SEEN ME NAKED? ITS FAT! OKAY? ****! im SO offended, angry, and in tears. i hope ur happy.

*coughs* I'd like to point out that members, no matter how well versed they may be, can't really judge whether or not another member has an eating disorder online. Such a thing takes time and really must come from within...

However... I do note with some worry that you've set, according to your profile, a very underweight goal for yourself c_m. 115 at 5'9" is a REALLY unhealthy goal, with a goal BMI of... about 14.9, assuming I did my math right.  Not healthy at all.

I think you'd be better suited, at your current weight, to work on toning, and not losing anymore weight.

u dont know what your talknig about either hkellick. maybe for another person that would be true but i have excess fat that cant be toned easily. i have a higher body fat percent than i should. ***& the scale, i dont caxre what it says, its about my body fat percent. ok? i am actually VERY healthy.
Then toning would make your body fat percentage better, just saying. Hahah.
Do you know what your actual body fat percentage is? Have you gotten it measured? Or do you FEEL that the percentage of fat on your body is high for your weight?
Hmmm. Well if you didn't photoshop your pictures you look pretty fabulous and thin in them but then again, stomach fat is easy to disguise so being skinny-fat is a possibility. I'm just saying that after losing as much weight as you have, which is a great achievement!, you probably have some loose skin leftover.
**** ive said a million times it feels like that i have it done weekly at the gym

i have mastered the art of sucking in my gut. i have done sicne i was 13. i dont photoshop, i just suck in my gut constantly, even when im sitting down. its not loose skin though. because if it was loose skin i wouldnt have to suck in my gut,.

I'm sorry. This is the first time, i think, you've come to the Lounge to discuss it, so this is the first I've seen it.

What sort of machine tested your body weight? Do you have any idea? If you don't know, can you describe it for me?

why not focus on toning up your body through strength training and pilates, things like that instead of just a weight goal?  I tell myself daily that it's not so much about the scale, you're right, it's about the body fat and the inches.  As long as you eat enough calories to allow your organs to function properly (your BMR) plus enough to cover your workout burn, you should be able to tone up.

Yes, so you have a high body fat percentage. Some people are trying to tell you to focus on toning instead of just trying to lose weight. Increasing your muscle ratio is the best way to lower that body fat percentage. So instead of having a goal weight maybe focus more on gaining muscle mass? But anyway, why do you care so much about what a whole bunch of strangers on the internet think? Ignore people's offensive comments. There will always be people who see things differently than you do. Why waste time being all offended over it? Good luck with improving your health.

Hillarious.

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
