"Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your
reputation is merely what others think you are."
Right, not fair. I don't really know what the sensible implication is in terms of how one goes about or feels things. Optimism v resignation depends on odds of success in any given endeavour. We are mostly irrational, & confused about odds, especially in a culture of dreaming.

I was taught by my Dad that it doesn't cost you a dime to be nice. I'm glad to say that I've lived by that rule. I have a soft heart when comes to children, Senior citizens and people less fortunant. Whenever I see an older person by themselves,I make it a point to ease my way around to start a conversation with them. To give them my undivided attention.Try to brag about something about them.To make them feel like the most important person in the world.Say something to make them laugh.Making sure to leave them with a smile on their face.If I see children, especially the ones that are less fortunant than other spoiled ones. Oh how my heart goes out to them.Heaven only knows what they face at home. I love to kid around with them, and bring a smile to their innocent faces.Asking the parent if I can buy them a peice of candy or something.Anything to bring joy in their hearts. Someone that I know is in need ,I send them money by someone else,Telling them not to let the person know where it came from. I do not write this to pin roses on myself. But trusting it will let others know, it doesn't cost you a dime to be nice.
Wait...what candy costs less than a dime? I don't know...no offense...but I've tried driving my van around offering kids candy and it turns out, that's "frowned upon".
You should talk to cajun...he buys unfortunate looking women entire tanks of gas...so he's definitely got you beat.

- And there's a danger in loving somebody too much
- And it's sad when you know it's your heart they can't touch
- There's a reason why people don't stay who they are
- Cause baby sometimes love just ain't enough
An entire song that's just chock full of lessons...Its got to come from the Heart..
Susanna Clark/Richard Leigh)
My daddy told me when I was a young girl
A lesson he learned, it was a long time ago
If you want to have someone to hold onto
You're gonna have to learn to let go
You got to sing like you don't need the money
Love like you'll never get hurt
You got to dance like nobody's watchin'
It's gotta come from the heart
If you want it to work
Now here is the one thing I keep forgettin'
When everything is falling apart
In life as in love, you know I need to remember
There's such a thing as trying too hard
I learned long ago, never to wrestle with a pig. You get dirty, and besides, the pig likes it.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.
But the greatest of these is love.

You are where you are in life because of what you believe and what you have acted on.
Our thoughts and actions control our lives and can be altered to change our lives.
