I wanted to see what I could do in a +10 mile run uphill. I got dropped off in Jackson (~1250ft) and ran the 11 miles up Hwy 88 to Pine Grove (~2600ft) and 20lbs on my back...Did it in 92 minutes.

I think I just might try for a top 5% finish at the NorCal Tough Mudder this year to obtain a slot at the World's Toughest Mudder event (24 hour endurance event for the top finishers). Everybody has to have a goal, yes?

Wow.. my 53 birthday was last Friday.. I decided to see how many Coconut Shrimp I could eat at Red Lobster... Congrats and Happy Birthday..

Kind of makes my wanting to finish my first 5k in under 30 minutes a little pathetic.

Congratulations, good luck with making the top 5%!

Ok that really made me LOL!

Make sure you don't kill yourself, Dave. You are still needed, just imagine all the metal pens that'd go unemployed if you weren't around ;-)

eta: oh and: Happy Birthday, Dude! Awesome fitness!!

Thanks all. For those of you who feel like your efforts are minimized let me assure you that I have put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into achieving my level of fitness. I most certainly didn't start out fit 2 years ago (quite the contrary). Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.

The nice thing is that I hit my weight loss goal about 1.5 years ago and have kept the bodyfat off since then. I'm still losing bodyfat, but now it's painfully slow.

Good job man and Happy Birthday!  I hope you're still going strong when you reach my age. ;-)

Fantastic job Dave!  Many happy returns

Very impressive Dave! I'm not a runner, doubt I'll ever be. If they had competitive pilates events... maybe I'd be into that. :)

My birthday is tomorrow. I think the coconut shrimp challenge is much more my speed. ;)

nice work and nice words, too.
