I need ideas
Ok, my birthday is coming up soon, and I need some ideas. (remember, I'm not directly taking everyone's answers, so please don't pull the 'you're taking advice from strangers' on me. I know, I'm just looking for ideas.)
Ok, my 17th birthday is coming up, I want it be something to remember, becuase everyone forgot my birthday last year (Sweet 16?! Hello!?) and I'd been planning my Sweet 16 since I was 7. So it was kind of a bummer when I didn't get to do something special (yeah, I went to go see Ponyo for my b-day)......
Here are my options on what I want to get:
-cartilage peircings (2 or 3)
-tattoo (design ideas below*)
or -big birthday party (inviting over 30 people [I think])
I personally want to do all 3, but I can't afford that.... haha.
*My tattoo ideas, I'd like to start with something small first, just because I've never gotten a tattoo before, I don't want to start with something big.
-Red John under right knee (if you don't know what Red John is, go to this link: http://mentalist.informe.com/gallery/126-2/Re d_John___Wallpaper_by_SpEEdyRoBy.png it's from The Mentalist)
-An Arc Reactor (I'm actually saving that for when I'm older -_^)
-A rose (which I don't really want..)
-My best friends name and birthday (birthday in Roman Numerals)
-Or the Batman symbol
I really want 1 or 4. Those are my two favorite. What do you think?

ETA: I'm sorry you feel this way about people here in the lounge. We all tried to give you suggestions and opinions on why it isn't the best idea to get someone else's name tattooed on your body. You didn't want to hear it. You shot everyone down who gave you their opinion and/or suggestion by consistently retorting with "she's been my best friend for years, etc, etc, etc".
You are going to do what you want to do, regardless. I'm not sure why you posted that you wanted ideas when you don't take any of our ideas seriously. You just want someone/everyone to agree with you that getting your best friend's name and birthday tattooed on you is the most brilliant idea of all time. It isn't.

Normally I don't care for the look of body art; but, you are an exception. I'd say get the tattoo and piercings because it seems like you deserve it. :)

This thread is titled I need ideas. People gave ideas. You won't get much validation for a name tattoo by asking for opinions and suggestions.

OP- my cousin got a tattoo of a date on her wrist for her dads birthday... and on her other wrist for her dads death. now keep in mind that that was a dad and daughter. but... you know... if she goes before you.. you can always match it up that way? :/

agreed. i even gave an example of myself and my friend.. who are STILL friends.. and NEVER fight (fitting OP's criteria).. just that we're in different places in ourl ives now.. if i had her tattoo on me.. well i'd feel just a bit silly now.
