I know more people must like this show, but no one I ever talk to does. When I showed my friends the first episode they nearly puked within the first five minutes (one did when the deserter got beheaded) and all my online friends think its pr0n and all the other people I've ever brought it up with either think it's pr0n or stupid. So are you guys fans of it? If so, who's your favorite character (mine's Daenaerys [no clue how to spell it] Stormborn/Targaryn)?

Tyrion Lannister

You can't have Pimp without the Imp! :D

The show does have its pr0nish moments, though.

The imp? He's pretty cool too, that's gotta be my second fave :)

Tyrion Lannister

x2.

Tyrion is awesome and I've only seen two episodes. He's just as superb in the books.

An yes it does. Mainly in the second season though.

it's a good show even my husband likes it the books are 10 times better though but that's usually the case. I read the books probably 7 years ago and was pumped when i heard a show was coming out..it's entertaining.

the books are better, yes, but the show is pretty awesome, too.

my favorite character is the hound, followed by petyr baelish.

I'm only able to watch it on Netflix since I don't have HBO, but so far I'm really liking it.

I've read all the books so far, and while I agree the books are far better, I'm very impressed at how true the series is being to the original story.

Favorite characters so far are Tyrion and Jamie Lanister.  Really enjoying Eddard Stark because I really like Sean Bean, but I know that's going to be a short lived character.

Big fan of the show. Refuse to start reading the books until Mr. Martin finishes them...dammit...

I am a huge fan of the show! Tyrion is most definitely my favorite character; my favorite character to hate is Joffrey.

I am glad so many of you recommended the books. I have debated whether or not I should read them but I keep hearing so many good things that now I have to!

LOVE the show! I got HBO just so I could watch it! Have read book 1 and am part way through book 2. I'm so anxious for the next season to start.

Right now all my fav. shows are on hiatus (Walking Dead, Hell on Wheels, Boardwalk Empire and GoT)

Yes!  I told DH if he came knocking, I'd be out the door. LOL!

What makes the books good?  Just entertaining, or is there something more to them?  ...not that there's anything wrong with a book being just entertaining.

personally, i simply find them entertaining. they're not earth-shatteringly amazing or profound, but mr. martin paints a pretty (or grotesque, as the situation calls for) picture, the characters are sufficiently alluring or repellent, the storyline is endlessly interesting, and there's heaps of depravity (which is really all i ask for in entertainment).

He reminds me of Prince Charming from Shreck. I keep expecting him to wave his golden locks about.

that's it! that's who he reminds me of!

i like the actor they got to play him, but he's a far cry from handsome, in my opinion. peter dinklage (tyrion) is actually kind of hot, so...they got it all topsy-turvy.

LOL. I don't know if it's the haircut or what :)

I love the show and the books.  I started reading them when only the first was out and it was so sad when he left a gap in books for YEARS.  It was my fav series so when I heard they were making a show of it I had to go out and add HBO to my cable subscription just for that, haha.

In the books Arya and John Snow were always my favorites but in the show I'd have to say that Tyrion is pretty amazing.  Peter really brings that character to life and I'm just amazed.

Fave show of the year!

I love the show! the books as well very well told my martin. <3

if you haven't read them i strongly recommend that your do!

Was talking to a guy friend of ours last night about this show and he said he likes it because sometimes there's some "good firetrucking" on that show.

Remove the appropriate letters to get what he meant. Wink

3 DIY Tortilla Tricks
I love Mexican food—tacos with crispy shells, crunchy taco bowls and salty tortilla chips. But I could do without the extra calories, fat and sodium in the salty, often deep-fried tortillas served at many restaurants or the less-than-healthy packaged versions of these foods sold in the supermarket.
