So, when people say waist size, what on earth are they talking about?
Who wears their pants at their waist?! and when you buy pants, is the number (34, 28, 32 whatever it is) mean the size of your waist? or the amount of fabric they have placed at the waist band of the pants?
And... what size in 28,34,32 etc. correlates with what size in 2,10,8 etc.? Is there any logic behind any of it?
I'm just curious because I went into a store the other day and none of their sizes made sense. I tried on one size in one cut and it was huge, and then went down a size in another cut they were a bit small.
Should I just conclude that designers make no sense?

Clairelane, I hope your wrong about the low rise pants. I can finally wear pants that go slightly below or right at my belly button. Regular pants are always wayyy to long in the torso area for me and I have to roll the waist down. When low rise came out, I tried them out to my surprise, they're not low rise on me, they fit just right! Lol
I don't know what my inseam is but I have noticed length getting longer too. I'm 5.6 and a half and I can fit petites sometimes. There is something wrong with that because I always thought 5.6 was a very average.

I honestly don't think there is any rhyme or reason to it now with Vanity Sizing and all. I've always had problems buying pants because I've always been curvy -- tiny waist, big hips. So, I just stick to the designers that I know fit my body and flatter my figure. :)
i know just what you mean it can be anyin as i have a pair of UK size 6 bottoms that fit at top that it M/L thats rather tight, a jaket thats XS wich fits ok some topes that are L that are realy big some jeans that are UK size 12 1 pair realy baggy the other not very baggy it all just gets confuseing and lets not star about bras they can be just as confusseing to lol

A size 8 is a 28 a size 30 is a size 10 but anything smaller than a size 26 confuses me.
Because I know girls that wear a 00 and wear the size 24?
