So, this thread can be like that Failblog blog - only for Pinterest.

What things have you tried that you saw on Pinterest, thought was TOTALLY AMAZING, tried it, and failed?

I tried this idea. It failed miserably, melted my toaster, and caught on fire :-/

omg Roxy did you really set your toaster on fire? I don't know if you can call that a fail cause it is really funny!

I haven't had any fails per se from pinterest I have tried a recipe or two that I just didn't really like... I don't think my fails are nearly as cool as yours though!

No you didn't.

Really?

OMFG LMAO!!!!!!

I thought I was lazy!

<3

Dude... I tried to make my own garlic bread. So I did what Pinterest said (lol) and put my toaster on its side and tried to make garlic bread. The toast inside caught burnt to a crisp, the side of my toaster melted, and it caught on fire. Yes, that really happened.

Husband was less than amused.

I'm laughing out loud....  and people are looking at me.

You know you can make that stuff in the oven in like 10 minutes... right?

I didn't want to turn on my oven though :(

I told hub we need a toaster oven!

Seriously, that photo looks like a disaster waiting to happen

Most things I made end up in the "good enough" or "why doesn't it work" categories.

My latest project is putting seeds in two pots with freshly bought soil (catnip and mint), putting that on the windowsill and waiting. Waiting. Waiting. The only thing that has grown is the two garlic cloves I stuck into another pot. <_<

I'm also collecting cardboard toilet rolls for a "deco" art project. Will probably turn out horrible as well.

I saw someone make a grilled cheese sandwich with an Iron once.  I haven't been brave enough to try it myself.  HINT: put the sandwich on wax paper and TURN OFF THE STEAM ON YOUR IRON!.

nebi - glad to know I'm not the only one who tries different things... although I must say, some things I have tried turned out great! mainly cleaning-type things.

This cracks me up... something I would do, totally.

we had one.  I found it being used less and less as time went on.  It takes just as long as the conventional oven.

freaking hilarious, right? i think the caption "nailed it" is what gets me... every time!

i know a girl who thinks she is a baker in the making. barely made it through high school and has no culinary training whatsoever, plus she is about as dumb as it gets. no common sense. those cookie monster cupcakes look like something she would make. she is obsessed with making rainbow cupcakes, and they always look like a unicorn took a **** on top of them.

I'm no expert but I did cake decorating in 4H (because i didnt have my own horse!)

I think crafting failures sometimes are better than when they turn out right :)

I like my t.o. though because while it takes as long, I'm not heating up the whole frickin' house in the summer if I want to make two slices of garlic bread.

Plus, when I've got my drunk on, Pizza Rolls are better in there than in the microwave, assuming I can wait that long!

yeah barbar that's my thing - it's not heating up the whole damn kitchen nor is it using as much electricity... but I would probably only use it once in a blue moon.

today's salad thing!  you're supposed to layer your salad in a mason jar and then just shake it up and eat.  Except it didn't really mix (and it wasn't even that full) and it was an awful mess to get OUT of the jar.

*sigh*  pinterest fail.

this is def not a craft but I just opened pinterest up to see this.... I'm gonna have to call that a fail!
