I know I have a weird name IRL, but there are people here who have heard me tell them my name the proper way for 2 1/2 years and still call me all sorts of wrong things. I even gave them an easy nickname to use and instead they still call me the wrong versions of my real name.

DH has an unusual name and no one can seem to get it right. Most of the time he doesn't even bother correcting them any more, but occasionally it gets to him because like you even when he has explained and given them an alternative they still mess it up.
You have me sympathy.
One of the reasons I was glad to give up my maiden surname was that it was a pain getting anyone to spell it right.

Yep. Most of the time I don't even bother correcting them anymore. I did that pretty solid for the first year or so and gave up. :/
