17 weeks since my last cigarette. Yesterday I received the check for my reimbursement for stop smoking drug (Chantix). I can now use that to start paying my annual deductible. Coincidentally they are roughly the same amount:(

Well done :)

Good for you Tom on purpose or a terrible mistake?

My hands are so cold, I'm pretty sure my fingers are going to fall off any second now.

Sit on your hands.

Now I've got the Sit on My Face Monty Python song stuck in my head.

Gaaah, oh my god, I'm so stupid.

I get it.

thank you for the compliment, that was very sweet.  I didn't get it.  I thought you were saying that I didn't have to say "in vinyl" because it was so obvious what we were talking about.

It's not that you are stupid pumpkin, it's that you are more innocent than you think.

Either that or you like it so much, you want to see it again. In that case you are deliciously devilish.

I didn't know wordsmith was a dude actually.

For the longest, I thought you were an adorable asian baby sitting in a giant pot on a stove.

I tend not to question.

*bounces round* I wish it was gift giving time now! I like when people open the gifts I got them and are happy. And if they're not happy, I tell them it was all G's idea. And if it's G that's not happy, he'd better not tell me!

I'm sort of dreading it.  I don't feel like I got anyone anything good this year.  I just...grabbed stuff.  A bunch of filler gifts.  I hardly ever feel like I know exactly what to give anyone.

I need to drop a few pounds.  I haven't totally banished alcohol but it easier for me to cut weight without it, especially this time of year when my workout times are shortened do to cold, wet, & dark.

I love gift giving time.  I'm pretty bummed that we had to rein in the Christmas spending by a whole lot this year.  I had all kinds of cool ideas.

I hate the "gift" part of Christmas.  It my least favorite holiday.

I eliminated 98% of alcohol from my diet almost a year ago (I grew way too fond of it). I found when I did that I actually gained weight. That's what got me back in the gym.

I am embracing the exact same position, Tom. I bought 2 presents this year, no cards, no candy...just good cooking, a little whiskey and It's a Wonderful Life with friends and family. :)

Do you hate the principle of the thing or do you just hate shopping?

Oh and cocktails at the tavern tonight. This will be my first foray out into the wide world after my little epiphany. No tears, just laughs.

Go me. :)

I feel awkward watching people open gifts.  Because I never feel sure that they will like them and I am braced for a bad reaction/facial expression (before they get themselves together and pretend to be delighted).

And I hate opening gifts, too, because I am not good at faking excitement and I'm not normally a very excitable person.  So I could open a giant brick of gold, which would be awesome, and not respond in a way that would convey my gratitude.  It feels forced to me.

A friend of mine had that happen when he quit drinking... He ended up replacing the alcohol with food.  Once he realized what he was doing, he dropped 30 lbs pretty quick, though.  He looks better now than he has in a long time.  (Or did the last time I saw him... he lives about 1000 miles away, so that doesn't happen often anymore)

A well selected gift is the geodesic path between hearts, particularly when the relationship surface is nonlinear.

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
