Welcome to Friday!
Today is my last day of Chat for a long time to come.
*blows an airhorn in the barista's ear, makes mimosas, hires Wolfgang Puck to make breakfast pizzas and run the omelet station, serves up warm cherry pie just for the heck of it*
Well then. The temp only needed retraining on 5 of the steps we covered. Heh. They're so screwed.
Isn't it nice to know they'll be begging you to allow them to give you money in the near future?
And then you can smile and say "I'm sorry, but my new job is keeping me ever so busy, I don't see how I can do that..."
That's freaky, Sammi. Poor guy.
Any possibility that he pissed someone off at some point? I wouldn't want to jump to any conclusions about him, I don't even know him, but for him to get jumped like that, it just makes me wonder.
Somebody else's problem :)
I doubt it, knowing him. But it's possible, I suppose. I mean, he IS a bartender. He has kicked people out, caught them stealing, cut them off, etc.
I guess there's also a thought that there's some kind of gang initiation thing going on because of another two incidents fairly recently. If that's the case, they seem to only be targeting guys walking by themselves.
I feel kind of disgusted with myself for even thinking about what I posted in # 444... I mean, to blame him, that's wrong. But the possibility of random violence is just so scary, I find myself looking for an explanation.
I thought the same thing. I figured maybe he had someone bounced from the bar or cut someone off and they waited around for some payback.
No, my first thought was that he'd kicked some guys out and they'd waited for him or something... but it was like three hours after his shift, and how would they know he walked that way? Unless they'd watched him before, I suppose.
ETA: It wasn't right next to the bar or anything. We're talking about three blocks away.
The gang initiation thing might be a more plausible explanation. Wonder if he'll remember anything about it, any identifying characteristics of the people who assaulted him.
I was going to comment on the dangers of living in a big city, but that's malarkey. We've got our share of nasty down here, too. It's just bad people are everywhere.
So far I guess all he remembers is being hit, then waking up in the hospital. I think, because he had been drinking, his chances of remembering much are already diminished... Ugh.
It's more like "The danger of living around humans"
judging by the description, i met him, right?
:( that's terrible. i hope he makes a good recovery :(
There was a guy shot and killed in the town where I used to live. A guy laid in wait for him. This was a town of 5,000 people. Yep, bad people are everywhere.
Heh, now I'm really looking forward to going home and hugging Lu - she'd never lie in wait and jump anyone.
Ha, yeah, this is why my dad is not being informed of this ;)
Actually, I grew up in a much smaller city. When I was in college, there was a guy going around attacking women on campus. Most often at knife point.
There was also a point where two guys were going around beating the crap out of other guys.
It's everywhere. Sad though.
Okay, I'm packin' it in. Time to head to the mexican restaurant, grab a margarita, and have some fun.
Have a great weekend everyone! Be safe! I'll journal at you next week.
Not the Irish one, the other one. I bet you did meet him.
I guess he's doing ok. I haven't seen him, but he was telling my old roommate about the situation, and she told me.
only for kisses
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
