So I' visiting the US for the first time

and it's great to have such a huge culture shock.

The streets are so nonfriendly to pedestrians. I don't drive so it was quite a challenge to walk places. I appreciate Europe a lot more now. And the portions are HUGE. And delicious ridiculously cheap fast food, I'm glad I don't have this kind of temptation.

On the flip side, people are so polite and make small conversation, and look at you in the eye and smile. The scenery from the plane was amazing. So much space. And it's so empty. It was like flying over an alien land. Canada looked even emptier and wilder.

I'm in Denver for a couple of days. Any suggestions on food to try, and souvenirs to get, or stuff to do?

I thought the whole point of baseball was to have an excuse to stuff yourelf with junk food and socialize. Isn't that why there are all these pauses? (or is that football?)

I mean it's still better than Kricket. That game and the reasons for it are... totally incomprehensible. And it looks even more silly than Baseball.

Oops, better go and see how the soccer final is coming along.

We had a Japanese exchange student with us for a year.  She was sitting on the bleachers with our family while we were watching one of our daughters play in a basketball game.  She leaned over to ask why I wasn't yelling at my daughter during the game  :-(  Not sure I want to watch youth sports where she came from!

I did go to a baseball game (and was the obvious tourist taking pictures with a foam finger lol). And can anyone explain to me why most people don't ....watch the game? I mean, I am from Europe. Take soccer. We take this stuff seriously. If you're at a game and blocking someone's view because you got up to chat with someone you'll get lynched. And if you're at the game you're living it, not eating nonstop and sort of hanging around in the back of the seating section.

Found it trully bizzare.

It's because baseball is so boring to watch. It's better when you're at the game, but it goes so slow that it's easy to get distracted by the surroundings.
