Warrior or Healer?

Quote  |  Reply
I've heard a theory that as individuals, we're either one or the other. Which are you and why?

If you feel your answer is both, then say which is more predominant. If you feel like participating, that is.

I am a warrior.  I think it's pretty obvious why.  ;)

And a badass one to boot! ;)

But pretend like people don't know you.

.

Say as much or as little as you'd like, but I'm hoping to pick your brains as much as you'll allow me to.

What feels good about being a warrior? What feels good about being a healer?

Well, it sounds cliche and probably more than a little egotistical, but I really feel compelled to stand up for the underdog.  I hate seeing people get dumped on, picked on, made fun of, whatever.  Even if they're generally unlikeable people, I want to see them treated fairly.  I was definitely born to defend the accused.

My last little blurb crossed paths with your post, Jane. Thanks so much for that descriptive response!

warrior (for others): the vigour of a righteous battle (feeling right is pretty heady; actually winning, more so). feeling you've made an impact, and that your time was worthwhile, even if you didn't.

healing: impact again. (i think control is part of the story for both, maybe.) seeing someone feel better.

do i need to feel personally acknowledged? maybe sometimes, depends. it's nice if it happens, but seeing an end result is good on its own.

eta: i am speaking for myself, here.

lol! 'descriptive' is one word for it ;)

I admire warriors. I admire people that fight for things, fight for people.

I'm requesting detailed responses and am failing to provide it in my own, but I've always been more of a healer. I can fight, but it makes me ill. I'm more inclined to be the one holding the spackle, asking "ok, who's got a broken heart?"
Ha! And awesome it another word for it.

Winning definitely feels good, but the satisfaction is really in fighting hard, fighting fair, and leaving it all in the ring.  ;)

Lysistrata, that's a good point. I don't think it's egotistical to feel good about fighting for and/or helping people.

I think humility is totally overrated.
Respectful, yes. Modest... Eh.

For me, humility is finding peace in the fact that no matter how hard I fight, I won't win most of them.  And, really, that's the way it should be.

rare & worthy calling, glad for it.

Sensible (and sane-making).

There's got to be some fun in the joust though, no?
