throw cushion.

I realize that some of these cushions have detail work and should therefore cost a bit more.

...though I don't understand why anyone would want beads on their pillows unless the pillow was never intended to cushion anything, especially not a face that might lie on it and get the imprint of the beads pressed into it.

But $30?  $40?  $50?

Really?

I'm gonna start making throw cushions as a side business if people are willing to spend that much on them.  I know how to make them - they're easy peasy - and $30-$50 a pop sounds pretty darn good!

My throw pillows came with the couch.

Are they the same color as the couch, or another color?

I've spent up to $40 on a throw pillow.  I love them.  The ones on the couch came with it, but I love to cover half my bed with pillows.  I don't know what it is, but it just makes the whole room seem more put together to me.  We have 10 pillows on our bed and 2 on the bench in our bedroom.  And we have 7 on the bed in the guest room.

However, my most recent throw pillow purchase was $3 for 2 pillows.  I don't go out of my way to buy expensive pillows, I just have a very bad habbit of deciding to buy something before looking at the pricetag.

$3 for 2 pillows - that's the best deal yet.

Are they tiny pillows?

*spots easy target*

Would you like some tiny pillows to go with the 10 on your bed?  You know, to be in front with the bigger pillows behind them... what colors do you have in your bedroom?  I'll make some very small cushions and you will love them and buy them.

Gawd I hate a bed with a bunch of throw pillows on it. You have to EFFING MOVE them to go to bed. Then after you get up you have to EFFING MOVE them back to the bed. Sounds too much like housework to me.

Reminds me of that movie with Ben Stiller where his ex(?) had all these cushions on the bed and he kept moving them on and off the bed every day and he had no idea why.

Along Came Polly?

Reminds me of an episode of Coupling (Brit version) where Susan takes Steve to pick out throw pillows, and the only "opinion" he can come up with is that he's "undecided about plaid."  That line gets used a lot at home.

First of all, I <3 that episode of Coupling!

Second, I have spent up to $40 on a single throw pillow (of which I bought 2).  That was before I had a chihuahua that thinks throw pillows are his play toys and lovahs all rolled into one fluffy rectangle.  Now I wouldn't spend more than $20, but it is pretty hard for me to find ones that I like in that price range.  My tastes are very specific and limited by nursery themed colors (powder blue, butter yellow, soft lime green, white).  It's especially hard when my otherwise well behaved puppy keeps defiling them.

My mother, however, is probably one of the people that Oprah's favorite things list was made for...she would think nothing of dropping 150 for a throw pillow.  When she couldn't find a couch with a fabric she liked, she spent thousands on a couch and matching love seat (cuz she liked the shape) and then spent almost as much as she spent on the couches originally to have them custom upholstered... then had custom throw pillows made in complimentary patterns and colors.  I am nowhere near that fancy.

I like having throw pillows on the couches.  I've probably spent up to $35 or so on a throw pillow if it's exactly the right colour with a really nice pattern.  Since my taste doesn't tend to line up very well with what's made for the mass market (too.  much.  beige!), I don't mind paying a bit more for things I really like when I find them.

I paid $8 for 2 at Savers.

I have 2 that I got at World Market and 2 from Anthropologie. Our couches/loveseat etc are made so that they don't have a high arm and we mainly use them for head pillows when laying down watching movies, etc. Also the couches are beige so it gives some color. They also get used on the floor a lot...

World Market has some really unique, colorful pillows for reasonable prices. I think I paid around $19 each for the 2 I got there and I get a lot of compliments on them.

Overstock.com is good too if you don't have to see them in person first. Cheap shipping. Some unique stuff there. Oh and Ikea if you have one near you. Sometimes their selection isn't great.

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
