I have trouble getting a decent amount of calories out of breakfast. I usually just eat a bowl of cereal since I'm usually in a hurry. Any suggestions for a good and fast breakfast plan?
A bowl of cereal for breakfast never satisfies me. I usually boil a dozen eggs at a time and keep them in the fridge just because they're handy for breakfast or lunch.
One of my "standard" breakfasts is a hardboiled egg (or peanut butter) on toast (or an english muffin) with a piece of fruit.
If you like those cereal just add some nuts, almonds and fruit to it- it will be more satisfying - I prefer oatmeal, seems more filling. Or I eat scrambled eggs with some veggies and ham - it's rather fast, and could be super fast if you keep some pre-washed and pre-cut veggies in your fridge, you just throw them in. If I have absolutely no time, I make protein shake with additional fruis added -it's not much but at least I don't feel like fainting.
It seems breakfast is just one of those meals that we rush through as we seem to be very busy. I had the same issue with a quick breakfast and out the door. I started to use a meal plan for breakfast as this is what gives our metabolism a boost to start burning those calories off. If cereal is what you like then plan ahead with prepared cut up fruit to add in the morning. I put a tablespoon of Oat Bran in my yorgurt stir it up and a more filling quick bite.If you add the yorgurt to your breakfast it gives you 120 cal count, I use the Balkan Original variety packs. I perfer not to eat the fat reduced as it is higher is sugar but it is up to you what you think is best for your diet. I really read labels very well and stay away from artifical sweetners as your brain treats them like sugar anyways. Oat Bran is great to use in your diet I use the raw flaked I tbsp just under level equals a weight of 7 grams to help you out with the conversion for the calorie counter. If you can put 3tbsp of oat bran in your diet a day you will be surprised at the great results a secret of the Dukan Diet.
Good luck sorry about the long reply
Oatmeal, oatmeal, oatmeal. Seriously, it is the best breakfast in the history of time. <3
You can pack so many calories in oatmeal, its great for recovery/weight gain.
This is what I'm eating to gains weight during recovery...
50G steel cut oats, mixed in with a medium apple, raisins, 2 figs, almonds, blueberries, a banana, and some cherries with cinnamon. Altogether that adds up to over 700 calories. Craziness! I doesn't even feel like I'm eating that much, and its all really healthy for you! :)It usually takes me 10 minutes to make, not sure if thats too long for you? Aha, sorry if it is, I'm really trying to embrace this weight gain... :}
