RULES:
- Do not post here if you are not reaching 2500+ calories (3000+ for adult men). We strongly recommend 3000+ to gain.
- Teens must reach 3000 a day minimum
- REMEMBER TO EITHER POST THE CALORIE TALLIES OR THE PORTION SIZES!
- Also remember I do not support you using alcohol as a calorie substitute. So if you reach 2500+ with alcohol in your diet, eat a little more to make up for it.
- If you are struggling to reach the necessary amount (and everyone has at some point) then please post a separate thread w/ questions.
- Do not post links to your personal blog.
- No partial meal plans. Only post complete daily intakes.

This thread is for those of you looking to actively gain weight for whatever reason.
Requirements- If you are a male you need to eat at least 3000 calories, females must eat 2500-this is so that your body can begin to now only gain weight, but also for your internal organs to begin to recover, this takes fuel/calories.
It is NOT suggested that you excercise while underweight. Excercsie is often an addicition seen with those with eating disorders. Try to stop cold turkey, IF you excercise, 2500/3000 is NOT enough. You are only harming yourself+prolonging the illness by excercising.
If you are struggling to reach the necessary amount, and we all did, then please post a seperate thread w/ questions. It is harmful for ppl to see posts that are under the food reuirement amount. There are suggestions on this forum regarding higher calorie+denser foods that should be incorporated to aid in reaching calorie goals
Pre-B: 2 small apples (this makes about 200g, ie ~100cal)
B: bowl of bran flakes, 2 prunes, seeds, milk, T w/lemon
S: 30g granola bag, pulsin bar
L: sweet potato wedges with tuna salad (tuna, beans, beetroot, peas, tom, cucumber, avocado), protein shake
S: lentil soup, pack of oatcakes (8 cakes = 288 cal)
S: trail mix
D: chicken curry (tom, onion, courgette, chicken, red pepper, lentils) with green beans, leeks, petis pois (100g ea), pack of oatcakes (again!)
P: yoghurt
Can't believe how hungry I was!!! How could I be hungry after this?!
Does this look balanced to you? It was 3000 cals according to my calculations. what I am struggling with, is the fact my mum keeps saying I don't eat normally. But I am never sure of what she says, as she is a believer that 'eating fat makes you fat'. Also, she has always said this about me as I don't eat the foods she does - cheese, sweets, sausages, mince etc.
thebiggerpicture- Oh yes totally, I have the biggest motivation at the moment, as long as I have gained a bit this Thursday I should be going back to school next Friday, which I've been waiting for for soo long now! Liking the "someotherberry" took me a min to figure out what that was haah :L Oooh did you have something extra? :D
annaattackk- Yey glad you're back :) I know what you mean, there seems to have been a lack of posting recently... I've been here though!
kiki- Ooh yeah I've just been on the tescos website, definatley want to try a poptart soon! Which flavour do you prefer, chocolate or strawberry? What kind of cereal do you have in the morning time? :)

baybeehannahx - So far i have only had the strawberry ones as i cant deal with chocolate at breakfast - My friend would eat chocolate bars at breakfast and it would make me feel ill watching her! Cereal wise i have w/e is in the cupboard. When it work i like high fibre cereals as i need to keep fuller for longer as there is no snacking allowed (So i eat crunchy bran, bran flakes, porridge etc) During the week though, while at home, i eat rise krispies most. During the day i have been known to mix cereal - such as cookie crisp - with yogurt for a nice crunchy pud. I love the texture of yogurt and cereal mixed.... is that strange? lol
kiki- Yeah I know what you mean about chocolate at breakfast- one of my goals is to try have something chocolate-y at breakfast sometime! That sounds good! Noo thats not strange, I often mix natural yogurt with bran flakes etc instead of milk! Oh the pudding is on my mp today :D it was really good :)
Today
B- Big bowl of bran flakes with semi-skimmed milk and bunch of grapes.
S- Yeo-valley natural yogurt with lots of yeo-valley summer berry compote and a few chopped strawberries.
L- Bowl of homemade lentil, leek & carrot soup, 2 thick slices of fresh crusty wholemeal granary bread with 1/5 pack of chicken breast slices and 3 slices of apple wood cheese. Ambrosia custard crumble pudding.
S- M&S fruity flapjack biscuit and 5 Cadburys clusters.
T- Hugee portion of chicken, bacon and mushroom risotto with lots of parmesan sprinkled on top, 1 thick slice of fresh crusty wholemeal granary bread and a glass of apple & elderflower juice. (feeling stuffed!)
S- Aero ice cream pot.

I gained a pound today!! wooh! for the first time in like three weeks, i feel so relieved! And I dont feel like i want to restrict now =) although i am a bit worried about the amount of sugar im nosiming...
breakfast: two crupets spread with a tb of PB each and a pot of raspberry activia yoghurt mixed with approx. 50g of gojii berries and raisins, milky tea
snack: banana
lunch: 3 huge carrots dipped in much caramelised humous, large iced and spiced currant bun, milky tea, two oreos
snack: large apple, bag of milke and ike jelly beans
dinner: big bowl of noodles and salmon in a chilli oil and soy sauce broth, with mushrooms, green beans and courgette
dessert: strawberry cornetto (wow man i havent had one for about a week! i was dying so i ran out to the shop in the rain to get this)
snack: apple spread with 2 tb. of peanut butter and a blueberry jordans bar
Kiki; Yog & cereal is delicious! Sometimes I prefer it to milk, particularly with sugary cereal as the yoghurt can be more tart and so nicer :-) Hazelnut Hobnobs?! Sounds incredible! How where they?
Houseelf; Your mp looks totally fine & balanced to me. Obviously the more fear foods you tackle the further forward you will come, and the less anxiety you'll have surrounding foods. But eating stuff because you like it, or nit eating other stuff because you don't is totally fine! It's more important to make sure you are making your mp. I find variety helps me be more excited and happy about making my mp. Glad to hear you feel inspired to try new stuff. Hope you enjoy it!
Kybryson; maybe try vegetable crisps? They count as a portion of veg, so might be a first step in introducing more scary snacks. Maybe try thinking why you are afraid, and addressing it. Like if you feel they are 'wasted calories' or 'without nutrients', maybe think about how necessary salt is, or how important oils are you your skin and digestion, so crisps are a good source. This really helped me!
Spiritriser; doesn't sound like you're having too much sugar at all! Infact, your mo seems really balanced with fruit, veg, sugar, carbs, etc. My non-ED but slim friend had a pack of hula-hoops, a Cocopops cereal bar and 1/2 bounty for breakfast. Then a full size (like 10inch) baguette with fried bacon, pack of Doritos & rest of the Choc bar for lunch. No fruit, no veg- and she didn't think twice about it! Not suggesting you do, but so many different balances cam be completely fine. Contests on the gain! My weigh in is tomorrow, do fingers crossed and I'll update!
So woke up today feeling horrible & with a massive Nose Bleed :-( But everyone was so nice all day, and eats went well. I was SO proud of the unplanned giant cookie, as my friend had a packet and everyone had one. I did too, even after having more than twice as much museli as usual because I was so tired in the morning. Good Times.

ugh, having really bad ED thoughts about my eats today.I'm so frustrated with not being able to gain weight that I don't care what i eat but at the same time then I get in an even more depressed mood because i ate it.

baybeehannahx - LOVE the sound of your soup! I am addicted to carrot and corriander soup ATM. I will even eat it cold(!) when its too hot for hot soup! And of course, your lunch pudding looks great! ;)
thebiggerpicture - As a HUGE nutella fan, hazelnut hobnobs are amazing! Their chocolate and nutty and nice! Also fairly small so good for snacking on when out and about too! :)

Up 1/2 a kilo this week which was a bit of a shock after gaining like, .1-.2 the last few weeks.
here is today so far:
B- Oatmeal, pot of banana cream custard yogurt, apple, milky tea
L- 2 scoops of mashed potatoes (this was VERY hard for me!, first time i had this in over 2 years!!!!!) 2 large slices of roast turkey, 1 cup of sliced buttered carrots, 2 cups of steamed broccoli, bottle of coke, and a side of stuffing
will let you know what the rest of the day looks like later on, I have been struggling with body image and the fear of gaining as I am afriad I will look bad and ugly. Does any one else stuggle with this feeling?

tarzaneugine- welcome, I'm soo happy to see you posting as I have read some of your other topics and was really hoping you'd make it on here soon :) On top of that I want to say one word: WOW! I am soo impressed with your eats, everything sounds absolutely delicious!

T- Stir-fry cooked in EVO- chicken, mushrooms, onion, beansprouts, soy sauce and 1 noodle nest. 6 Cadburys clusters.
S- Quaker Oats So Simple maple syrup porridge express pot and a big slice of Waitorse summer berry fruit flan.
Gained 1.5lbs! Like to say I feel good about it, but I don't. I just feel ill. Ill, but more than a little smug & proud! These things balance I guess... Oh, and well done Georgieuk too!

Tarzaneugine; Eats looking yum; freshly baked muffins? Jealous much! At uni we barely have a microwave (seriously, 700W, cooking a potato takes less time in the oven!) I really look forward to seeing all the foods you mentioned on other threads springing up on the mp!
Roadtorecovery; Hi! I think everyone struggles with that to a certain extent, particularly early on; it comes with having am ED! However, the rational part of your brain will know that this is just ED trying to deceive you and keep control over you. I found that everyone I thought looked gorgeous weighted more than me, had their periods, weren't obsessed with food, had energy and strength to go out and have fun... The reasons to gain are Very long. Importantly for me early on, anorexic bodies aren't attractive (except maybe to weirdos you Really want to avoid ;-P) People may like you despite your figure, but it isn't a draw. Happily, now I'm gaining for me, my health, and my LIFE. It's worth it totally :-)

Heheh, as you can see I was feeling quite blueberry for breakfastXD You know what's funny though is I hated blueberries my whole life, no joke. I had my first blueberry muffin not 3 days ago! But yeah, I try to go for delicious, or else it's just like..what's the point? I want to enjoy something.

mmm had the best home cooked supper tonight! my mom made meatloaf that had hamburger, sweet potato,ketchup,tomatoes and onions in.
B-1c muesli+1c milk+pb+blueberries+an apple

L-2x ancient grains+turkey breast, spinach salad with mushrooms,cucumber,green and yellow peppers,snap peas and 1/2an avocado, an orange
S-2c chocolate milk heated to make hot chocolate(its really cold out today! crappy rainy and yucky weather for the past week! and supposed to be this week too...), an apple
D-lots of meatloaf, coleslaw salad with cabbage,broccoli,red pepper,gr.beans, dried cranberries and dressing, 1c milk
S-get together with the team...we always have random munchies(chips,popcorn..)
