Yes, you have to eat more! As in 3,000-3,500 calories a day.
When you say you're losing a pound a day, I assume you're weighing yourself every day, correct? First step: stop. Weigh yourself once a week. Your body weight fluctuates a pound or two throughout the day based on various factors, so it's better not to weigh yourself all the time.
Second, yes, you do need to eat more. Get to at least 2000, then start pushing for 2500. Find more calorie-dense foods if you have trouble fitting in the volume of food you need to be getting.
been there sweetheart... I was where you are and were a long time ago... I at 5'7" weight was 110 lbs and going down... dont know what happened... years into a constant fight with weight 3 kids later and years down the road my battle is now with over weight.. which is and always as you know a battle of CONTROL... sweetie... you must consume at least 2000 cal a day to gain... you are not eating enough ... people who want to loose weight eat what you are eating in a day ... eat high protein, carbs, eat healty fruits and veggies with all your meals... go for your eggs in the morning and toast and bacon etc... learn to love yourself and learn that food can be your friend ... dispite everything I remember the feeling of control... now many years later I wish I could gain some control over ... over eating ... please take care of your body my love... you only live in it 1 good luck to ya

It's not about eating 3000 calories a day, it's about slowly and gradually increasing you intake. It's healthier that way. Aim for 1500 for the next two days, 1600 for the two days after that and so on. You body won't be shocked with all of the extra food it's getting from 3000-3500 calories. Good luck. Don't be scared. Just be patient.
She's already eating 1700 -- can we at least start there?
Yes -- you do need to eat more, much more.
