I'm just curious...
For those who have started gaining weight, what was the absolute minimum number of calories you started experiencing weight gain at? Please, don't just respond with the typical "you need 2500-3000 calories to gain weight." I'm not stupid, all bodies are different, and I know 1 lb of weight requires 3500 extra calories. I'm interested on knowing if because metabolisms have been stalled if someone with anorexia gains weight on a lower amount of calories.
i eat approximately 2500 calories a day, im 24, a female and have gained about 6 pounds in 3 months. i currently walk about an hour a day, teach for a profession so am on my feet maybe half the day and take zumba instead of walking once a week. i think my metabolism is still pretty slow because so many people dont gain on only 2500.
I do, but I'm trying to cut back and I would advise anyone in recovery to NOT exercise because it can slow down recovery or even cause a heart attack. Yes, I am a hypocrite.
Darn..this just makes stopping cold turkey even harder....
What makes it harder?
Cause it seems like everyone is still exercising!
Actually I think a majority of the people are not exercising. I wish I could stop, I really do. I think its beneficial to your recovery if you don't exercise because you have a lot of damage to repair. Don't let the fact that I am still exercising stop you from recovery. I have made progress and am slowly cutting back on exercise. Its just scary to stop completely. I'm really sorry if I triggered you or anything.
i dont exercise, and i had pretty much stopped gaining on 2500 so ive just upped to 2700 aswell :)
How did you stop..and did the anxiety and need to do it leave? Or do you still feel like if you don't exercise you will gain weight badly?
