Question about pain and weight gain, HELP!

Quote  |  Reply

Recently i upped my calorie intake, and started to gain a little weight. I've maintained keeping these gained 4-6 pounds for about a week or a little more, but the I've also developed some bad headaches, and sore breasts. This I figrued could only be 2 things. One, the heat and my bad habit of sleeping on my stomach with a wired bra on..which i should stop doing, or Two, my period may be returning...AFTER 2 YEARS? anyone have any ideas which is probably more likely? If you've gotten your period back after anorexia, did your breasts become sore before hand?

One reason im leaning twoard it not being my period is when it came regularly, pre-ED, i never had breast pain. I also do not have stomach cramps, nor am i moody.

Help?

When you gain weight and you start ovulating again you are likely to experience what's known as 'breast tension'.  The breasts are mostly fatty tissue and glands so as they gain weight they'll feel a little 'stretched' and tender.  (Ask anyone that's been pregnant...!) If you're going to wear a bra at night make sure it's the right size now that you're bigger.  Compressing your breasts in too small a bra is painful.

Headaches are caused by all kinds of things.  Dehydration is the most common.  If you're eating more, make sure you're increasing your fluid intake.  Stress, eye-strain, fatigue... there are lots of reasons.  But try drinking more fluids and see if it helps.  Best of luck.
