Are scales usually pretty accurate. I just weight myself next door at a Physical Therapy office, since I don't have a scale. I told them what I was doing and ask if I can come in 1 a week and check my weight. The scale is a regular scale that you would have a home. My question is: Are Scales usually pretty accurate?

It's really hard to say. But the general idea is to use the same scale and check your weight at the same time. That way you can compare. As long as the numbers are going down, then I wouldn't worry about how accurate it is or not. You are losing weight and that is what you want.
I have found that scales are not very accurate unless you have the medical grade, digital scales. These use pressure sensors to determine your weight instead of counter weights and balances. The at home digital scales are pretty good but can run you upwards of $40-60.
I do agree with Kelly though that the number shouldn't matter. Try to weight yourself at the same time of day and day of the week and wear similar weight clothes or the same clothes. This will help you get a more accurate reading.

Well, I did a little test when it comes to scales. I weight myself at the PT office across from my office and I went down to the GOLDS GYM after work and weight myself on their digital scale. There was a HUGE DIFFERENCE. The Golds Gym was alot more accurate (Sorry about the spelling) than the house scale on the PT office. There was a 14 pounds difference. I trust the Golds gym scale. I am happy to say the in 3 weeks I have lost 9 pounds!!!!
Im doing the same thing but every two weeks with a doctors scale for larger people.
Scales really vary but if you want to test it - stand at the front, then the back, then the side. If there is a large differences then this will indicates its not reliable. If you have a regular doctor, they should not charge you to weigh yourself especially knowing you will do it yourself and that its to get healthier.
