i binged last nite. was doing really well during the day, but my bf left to go on a business meeting out of town. i guess it was just the ability to eat whatever i wanted with no one watching.... so i did. and no, i didnt just overeat... i binged. i feel bad about it today...just start over right? i had a million things i could've done to stop myself from eating or take my mind off it, but i didnt do any of them. it's like the habit is to eat when im bored, not to write in my journal, read, or do my nails, or play on the computer. i need to make that my go-to instead of the kitchen...
anyway, just venting and making myself accountable by posting this here...
We've all done it, I know I sure have! I'm struggling with that myself...trying to stay out of the kitchen and find other things to do when I'm bored. It's hard when you're 'trained' to head for the kitchen, but we can do it!!!
Try not to beat yourself up, there's not much you can do about it at this point aside from recognizing it and getting yourself back on track today. Good for you posting this though, it's good to air your 'dirty laundry'. Like you said, it helps to keep you accountable. :o)
thanks girl!! :)

I totally know what you mean! This is usually my problem too, and its an unconsious decision. When I'm left alone, my reflex will just be to "take a bite of that" and "taste that" and next thing i know im on a 5000+cal rampage. it sucks, i know, and im working real hard on it too. it just takes extra effort, motivation, and healthy habits....we can do it!
i wouldnt feel guilty, i bet that food was well worth the taste! yeah it happened but over compensate at the gym, and I'm sure you will be fine. my trainer says that once a week you can go "a LITTLE (little) crazy" just to keep yourself sane.
It's ok to have an oops moment. Just let it go since you can't go back to "fix" it later. You're doing great by getting it out and by trying to establish a better alternative then the kitchen next time. Hang in there and don't beat yourself up!
Yeah we do all have those moments. Here are some tips though that have helped me. First off, don't buy things that are bad for you or that you crave. If it's not in the house then you won't be tempted to eat. Second, I don't know if you like veggies but my friend told me that if you get fat free sour cream and the ranch powder dip mix and put it in the sour cream, it makes a very yummy and low cal veggie dip. I tried it yesterday because I was getting horrible cravings and it really was yummy and I got my cravings to go away. Third, if it's chocolate or candy you're craving, buy the bag of the bite size pieces and only allow yourself to have one. They say it's better to give into a craving than suffer through it. Even that one piece will help me....sometimes two...hehe. Fourth, don't beat yourself up about it!!! I always do that if I binge or something. You've done it and all you can do is not keep doing it. Go for a walk or do some cardio to help burn those extra calories off. Fifth, call a friend up and go to a movie or stay in and watch a movie and make healthy snacks to eat during the movie. Sixth, those wonderful 100 cal snack packs help me a lot. They have shortbread ones and ones with chocolate and they're so yummy. Try some of those.
I hope this helps!! I tend to be online late so if one of these binges start to cross your mind then hop online and IM me!! =) I have both Yahoo Messenger and AIM and my name on both is Bl4irbe.
thanks you guys!! i worked out today and def. ate a lot better, and i feel better too...i really appreciate the support and it's good to know that there are other people out there that go through the same thing!! ![]()
