Almost Maintenance Group!

Quote  |  Reply

This group is intended for anyone getting close to their goals. So if you are 10 lbs. or less overweight or at a health weight and taking off some vanity lbs.

I started my weight loss on August 25, 2011. That was about 8 months ago. To date I have lost 45 lbs. I am planning on losing another 20 lbs. That might be adjusted though. I want to hit that goal before I return to school next year for my senior year of college. Of course I have all intentions of hitting that in mid-July or earl August.

Age: 22 (almost)

Height: 5'10

SW: 225

CW: 180

GW: 160

Mini Goal: Hit a healthy weight (174).

I'm not weighing myself until Friday, which will be 2 weeks since my last weigh-in. I'm hoping for the 170's!

Hi there , that's my goal... 11 lbls to take off! What's your plan of attack?

Same plan I've had all along, stay within my calorie range with nutrient dense and balanced diet. Allow cheating, but in moderation. Exercise 5 times a week combining core, weight and cardio. And don't panic if the scale isn't nice.

Sounds like a good and reasonable plan. :-) I am 7 lbs from my goal weight. I was pretty much AT goal weight after losing 25 lbs, but I've creeped back up from stress and vacation and just overindulgence all around.

I am 143 lbs right now and hoping to lose 7 to get to 136 lbs. My goal date is August 13th. That's the start of my doctoral residency and it's exactly 14 weeks away, which means I can focus on a loss rate of .5 lbs per week, which is nice and slow. I know some weeks I'll lose more and others not at all, so hopefully it will all balance out nicely. I am 5'7, 28 yrs of age.

My plan is an easy 250-500 calorie a day deficit coming from a mixture of diet and exercise, getting enough water and enough sleep, and controlling portions even when I 'splurge'.  For exercise I like gym cardio, jogging, weights, and the Brazil Butt Lift series (which is amazing and hardcore!).

Hey there! I hit my goal weight back in January and switched to maintanance.  Since then, 6 lbs have slowly crept back on and I'm starting to understand just how hard maintaining really is!  I'm back in weight loss mode and would like to lose the 6 plus a few extra vanity pounds by this summer.

Hi I'd love to join this group ~ I'm 4lbs from my goal of 139 and may decide to drop a few more to take me to 135. I started in July last year and half of me is set on this new way of eating but the other half is sick to death of it LOL. I never want to get to be overweight again and it's always going to be a battle for me. I definitely need all the help and support I can get!

I've been wishing a group like this existed for a while!

SW: 196.8 (April 2011)

CW: 166.2 (May 2012)

GW: 163.5

Stats: I'm 5' 7 1/2" and 43 years old.  I've lost weight very slowly (about 2 lbs per month), which is good because it's given me a chance to really ingrain healthy habits.  I feel fantastic - I work out pretty hard three times per week and walk a lot inbetween times.  I sorta feel like I'm mostly in maintenance mode at this point (my pre-baby clothes all fit), but 163.5 would take me to a healthy BMI for my height, and then I could really declare victory.  My goal? "healthy BMI by the 4th of July."  I have three months to lose three pounds :)

Reading this is great motivation to lose those last few pounds! Here are my stats:

Age: 28

Height: 5'4"

CW: 123.5

GW: 118

I've put on a lot of muscle in the past few years, so these last five pounds are just the fat hanging on for dear life in the usual places, i.e. arms, tummy, thighs, and butt. I'm hoping I can lose it by the end of June before my family trip!

I'll join!

I'm 5'7" and around 130 at the moment. Haven't been keeping up with exercising though, so I want to get back into shape. Maybe get down to 125 or 120. :)

Hi, Good idea! Things are different when we're nearly there.

I'm 5'4, 46, and I reckon I've got another ten pounds or so to lose.. not sure.

I've gone from 168, down to just within healthy BMI at 141, and I think I'd like to be somewhere between 127 and 132, depending on how that looks and feels. I've always imagined that once I pass menopause, I'd like to be one of those fit and wiry looking women who ride their bicycles and garden into great old age. But i don't want to look gaunt, so have to see.

That's if I can get there! As I get closer, losing becomes slower and slower. But it ill happen!

I'm quite relieved to hear you all talking about goals of half a pound or a pound a week. That's much more like what I'm currently capable of I think!

Cheers!

I think I've been in this group for years.  I can't seem to lose the last 7 lbs.  As someone else said, they are hanging on for dear life!  I'm 5'7, 41 (yikes!) and dying to see the left side of 150.  145 is my goal weight.  I think I can...I think I can...I think I can...

I'd like to join as well!

I'm 43, 5'4". In February I got really ill after having a bad reaction to migraine medication. Changes that I made to my diet in order to try and prevent migraines helped me lose some weight after that and now I'm starting to exercise more to keep headaches away and feel better.

CW: 140 GW: 130

I'm having surgery Aug 21 and I'd like to go into it feeling strong and at my goal weight, particularly since I'm told I can't exercise after surgery for two months.

Thanks for starting this! Good luck all.

I would like to be a part of this.

CW: 152

GW: 140 (by August 2012)

I am currently trying to focus more on toning and reducing body fat. Hopefully will be in great shape by Nov 2012 for my wedding :)

These last pounds will be slow.. but totally worth the effort !

Hi everyone! I'd love to join too.

Over the past year I've lost about 40 pounds and am hoping to lose another 10, but am really just focusing on losing fat and gaining muscle at this point. Just to be under 150 is a huge deal for me, so it is less about a number and more about how I feel.

hi there

so i would like to join your group :)

i'm struggling with my last few kilograms. i started losing weight about 3 months ago and have been doing alright but have been stuck for about 3 weeks! trying to change that with a change in my exercise plan.

stats:

23 years old, 5'7"

starting weight: 167lbs

current weight: 145lbs

goal: 135lbs

I'm probably still too far off to join, but I'd like to anyway since I don't really know what my goal weight is.  I've been over 170 for about 10 years now and started dieting for real when I was over 190 - looking at the very real possibility of 200 shocked me into doing something.

Stats now:

47 years old

5'8"

160 cw (yes, within a couple of days, I anticipate breaking into a new decade number!!!)

140 gw

And right there is the problem.  Up until I was about 35, I never got above 135.  My normal weight is around 125 to 128, but that was when I was young.  Now, I would love 140, but I might settle for 145 or 150 depending on what I look like.  I don't want a bunch of deep wrinkles, flabby skin and gaunt bones showing.  What looked great at 30 y/o might not look as good on a 50 y/o.  So I'm either 10 pounds off, or 25 pounds off.  Or somewhere in between.

Anyway, great idea for a group!

Yes, I'll join. I was @ my taxrget & then I had a bad week or two, so now I am about 4 lbs off target: Age: 26 Height: 5'2" (small framed) SW: 118 CW: 112 GW: 108 I was once very strict with diet & exercise & dropped to 98 lbs...too skinny...so I increased my calorie intake & got up to 105. Then, I slacked off....By experience, I know I feel healthiest in between 105-110.

This sounds like the group for me!  All along I have been trying to think more lifestyle changes as opposed to diet and exercise.  I hate to "Exercise" and who likes dieting?  I know that to keep the weight off my changes need to be one's I can live with long term.  I have had a lot of trial and error but keep plugging away in the hope that one day I will stumble across the magic formula that works for me and that I can seriously live with.  So I don't "exercise", I just try and be more active.  I like to hike and swim and do what I can depending on the season.  I use my treadmill some and try and do core and strength training in short sessions.  (for example during the commercials for a 30 minute show I will do planks, crunches, bicep curls etc)  I may do a morning yoga DVD.  You get the idea, no set routines or have to, just do what I can.  For the most part I eat pretty healthy and meals are okay.  The snacking is what kills me!  So I work on finding lower calorie, healthy snacks and make sure I am hungry when I am eating.  If I go out to eat more than once a week the rule is no mayo or french fries on 2nd and subsequent trips.  It is amazing how many unhealthy options that little rule eliminates!

Age:  44 (dealing w/peri-menopause issues and thyroid, so not making things easier)

SW: 148

CW: 140.6

GW:  135

Height: 5'7"

I have found lots of great tips on CC, you just have to find the one's that work for you!

I everyone! I'm new here but this group sounds like a good fit. I don't know what SW means, but I think it means highest weight ever? So here's my stats:

Height: 5'0 (shortest here!) SW: 125 SW(prego): 144 CW: 109 GW: 102

Since having my first baby six months ago, I've been hanging on to about 5 lbs (I was 104 Pre-prego). I feel most comfortable between 102 and 104. Any skinnier and I'm just hungry all the time, and any fatter I'm always self conscious. Just started personal training Friday but my pt is out of town this week!

Woohoo, Great group. Over the last 10 weeks...

I hit my goal weight of 149 and then dropped to 145 (last years goal)...

I am trying to maintain for a while (3-4 weeks) then maybe lose another 5-10 vanity #'s.

I am 5'7" so a healthy weight now but I could tone up a bit more and probably lose 10# and look even better!

I am 147 today but I think it's a bit of water weight due to PMS...;-(

I started eating primal/paleo and that helped me lose as well as 5-6 days a week of EX (jogging, biking, and some strength training).

Just where I'm at too!  Been trying to find/start such a group.  Let's do it!  So this is just a forum... mWhite, will you open it as an official group?  Lots of interest in this thread...
