Does anyone else carry a lot of their weight in ONE part of their body?

Quote  |  Reply

I am currently 5'5" and about 125 pounds but I feel like I look so much bigger than I am because most of my weight is in my thighs and hips.  Its very frustrating because weight wise I dont think I need to lose weight, but my thighs are so large for my frame that I do end up looking sort of bottom heavy and I feel fat.  Does anyone else carry their weight in one main part of their body?

I hate how I look in the bathing suit! All my clothes are so snug around my hips and very unflattering!

Yeah.  My boobs.  Bottom - 36 inches, size 6.  Top - no idea how many inches, but size TWELVE.  How utterly disproportionate.  I look fat in that area, it's why I'm dieting.  The really annoying thing is, it's just my arms/boobs.  My stomach is fine.  I definitely feel your pain.

My stomach, unfortunately. It's genetic, my mom carries all her weight there and my grandmother does the same. All the women in my family have the same shape when they put on a few too many, a pregnant looking gut especially because we all have really thin legs right below. SIGH.

Most of my weight is in my butt and thighs. I have hefty arms and calves as well, but they've always been a little bigger. My mom is built the exact same way.

I am thin and toned every where except for my lower abs, there is quite a bit of fat there, I run 6 miles 3x a week, do weight training 2x a week and still can't get rid of it. I also retain quite a bit of water there sometimes too which makes it look twice as big.

all my weight is in my torso.  (arms = good.  legs = awesome)

but then... boobs = more than i'd like. and waist/lovehandles... yep there it all is.

I understand you completely!  I'm 5'5" and 125 lbs. as well, and I carry most of my weight in my butt and thighs... which is annoying because I don't have much chest to speak of because of that.  it does make me feel bigger than I actually am, and it really seems unfair! lol

I am 5'5 medium frame and carry all of my weight low in my tummy and my thighs/bum....

size 6 on top, size 8-9 on bottom

Same here. I hate all you complaing "pear shapes", just so you know Yell

Apple shapes are the least healthy, least attractive and most difficult to clothe. A woman with hips? SHOCKING! Try having the hips and thighs of a size 6 but having to wear a size 12 or 14 because you're built like a damn man with all your weight hanging around your midsection. Women's jeans bag out like a filled diaper around my butt and thighs if they fit my waist.

By the way, low rise men's jeans look great on our shapes. They are shaped just like us! They have to be low rise otherwise they are way too long from crotch to waist.

AHHH thanks I needed a good rant.

I carry mine in my stomach too and love handles I hate it!!! I am small everywhere else....sigh*

Yes i've always had bigger thighs... even when at my lowest weight!

I FEEL LIKE I WROTE THAT. I am the exact same in every way... even height and weight, haha. And yes, it's really easy to feel fat. But don't worry about it hun, seriously, I know it's hypocritical for me to say because I'm struggling to get this mentality, but... It's the way we are, we can't change it, so we have to accept it. I think every thing's just in our head, and we just have to reprogram the way we think. Everyone is beautiful in their own lovely way. :)

THIGHS!!! I have no butt, no boobs, no belly.  I have ginormous elephant thighs that I cant seem to get rid of.  It really sucks.

Oh my god..that is totally me..I also believe if I didn't carry so much weight in my hips and thighs that I would actually look pretty slim. Kind of sad really. :(

Take all that fat and dump it around your middle and try to wear cute little tops and jeans that fit then come crying to me

MAN I'm grouchy today!

You could not have said this better.  I would also rather be a "pear shape" if I had a choice.  At least that looks feminine..

Just so you know - pear shapes are healthier. Carrying excess weight in the mid section (which is where I have it, sigh...) is the most dangerous form - apparently it predisposes you to heart attacks and all sorts of scary stuff. I got told this at my last work based health check.

So pear shapes - at least your fat is less likely to kill you!! It's the "normal" female form - but clothes designers seem to have forgotten that...

Me - no bum, broad hips, saggy middle, big boobs. Try finding a swimming costume to make THAT look good!

I'm another apple. :(  I'm fairly fat all over, but I'm by far fattest at my stomach.

I think I'd rather be a pear.  You can buy nice little dresses.  Me, I'm shaped like a yield sign.  Freaking broad shoulders not helped at all by enormous boobs and large arms with just fine bottom.

to all pears,

i can totally relate...

but recently have significantly slimmed down there by doing more abductor(?) machine work and other leg press machines!

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
