Anyone else a 34d?

Quote  |  Reply

I got measured last week at Victoria's Secret for the first time since I was about 14 and was surprised to hear that I was a 34d (when I think of D , I think Dolly Parton!) . Anyway the bra was expensive at VS and I can't find the size at other stores. Do you guys know why it's so hard to find? An assistant in one store even said something along the lines of that size being rare in ''normal people''.

I am a 34D and have a slim figure. I've always been.

Ah, Victoria's Secret. They don't carry my size at all: 32C. I find it hard to find that one anywhere in fact. And despite what they try to tell you (to sell bras), going up in band size and down in cup size doesn't work. I can only wear a 32C. 34B doesn't work at all.

I have found my size reasonably priced at Dillard's. You might find yours there, too.

oh - also - many women wear the wrong bra size. Wearing a 36C is a common mistake for women who should be wearing a 34D.

As far as physical stores, I've had a lot of luck at Dillard's (and I'm a 36DDD!). They have a HUGE lingerie department, and so carry a lot of sizes.  Not sure where you are located, Dillard's is a mid-upper scale dept store in the south.

Yes, that's the size I currently wear, a 34D. I started out at the beginning of my weight loss odyssey as a 50D, so that's quite a reduction, only there I used to have difficulties finding my size because it was so large and now I have difficulty because they think if you're a D cup, then you must be larger around the chest.

VS is one of those stores I go to and if I happen to find my size in the right style of bra, I think it's practically a miracle. I wear a 36D in most bras, and they almost never have it. (I don't like many of VS bra styles because they're not built to fit me right or are too flimsy, or EXPENSIVE but that's another story.) I usually go to all the department store bra sales and have better luck finding sizes there. As thmheh says, Dillards is good.

You guys, I don't have any issues with VS bras - availability or style or fit. I find them very supportive and stylish.

I don't know what size I am now.  I really need to be sized.  So both Dillards and VS do fittings?  I wasn't really sure where to go.  I did just kind of try out a few sizes and it seemed like I was kind of in between 36B and 34C.  I will have to get a professional help me figure out exactly what I need to be.

i'm a 32dd but the 34d in vs fits me perfectly. i love vs, they have a great, comfortable range and it always gives the perfect lift. and i think they're a good price for how well they fit/last. beautiful lingerie is a necessity!

 Agreed!

VS bras look great to me. If they had my size I'd shop there. But there are plenty of department stores with pretty lingerie and more options for those of us left out in the cold by VS. Wink As far as price goes, though, some choices are cheaper than at VS and some just as or more expensive.

I love the VS bras (well the older styles, not a fan of the foam like ones), I buy mine either on their clearance sale on the website or when they have the bins out.  Or, on e-bay.

I used to be a bra fitter and have heard "go up a size, down a cup".... sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I used to be a 32DD (very hard to find) and then a 34DD. Last year was the worst as I was a 34F (Yes, it is a size...) Thank GOD I have lost 10 pounds and can fit back into a 34DD. The LARGEST selection of sizes and styles is at Nordstom's. I don't usually like the store as everything is expensive, they don't carry petites, and the sales clerks are a bit snobby.... BUT--they do carry a bizzillion bras!

A good fitting bra is essential and can make you look much thinner! I saw many women when I was a bra fitter that had not worn good support and they had "Cooper's Droop" (yes, it is a condition). It is when the boobs hang down like speghetti with a "ball" at the end. YUCK!! Good luck!

I think we need pictures... for educational purposes, of course.

I ditto what carolann said. I'm also a 32DD (It's not as obscene as it sounds, but I can't wear just any old tank top.)

I also recommend trying on the band and cup sizes that are one-up and one-down from what you usually wear whenever you buy a bra. There is enough variation from one brand to the next, and from one style to the next that you might find a better fit. Just like jeans.

Try Dillard's.  I was a 32 DD forever, and they're the only store that ever carried that size.

Was... now I'm more like a 30 D, and I don't live anywhere near a Dillard's.

you can shop at Dillard's online

Im a 34 DD and I've always had trouble finding the size at Victoria's secret. They used to carry D and DD in if not all of their bra styles, at least most, and in store, but a few years ago, a women working there told me they were cutting back on the D and DD stock due to poor sales. But they always have the D and DD sizes online, and thats how I buy my bras, even if it is a hassle.

I have found VS to not fit at all.  I am a 34 D and so is my sister.  Neither of us can wear them . That was not at all cool for the sales girl to comment.  Talk about unprofessional.

i loveeee VS i'm a 36D and have had SUCH issues at walmart/other stores.  it's really frustrating.  hey.. maybe the sales girl was jealous?  hmmmmm...
