I really doubt that this really helps you lose weight and keep it off. Sounds like another Fad Diet.

How does it work? Do you know?

I've heard of it.  :D  One of my patients tried it right before she was checked into the hospital.  We suspect it was the reason she was bleeding into her stomach.

Do your research on it.
I didn't try the diet, but I drank 3 shots a day for about 2 weeks to try to help me pass a test. I didn't notice any extra help in the weight loss department. It tastes horrible...just a warning.

I used to take 2 Tablespoons of apple cider vinegar a day back when I was in good shape, and it did seem to help me with calorie burn (maybe because it helps detox?) and it helped me get over my plateau. But it does taste aweful, I never really got used to it. My Fiance tried taking it for his acid reflux (instead of Prilosec) but he couldn't get over the taste either.

Not sure if it's the same one you are talking about or not, but I have a 2nd cousin who did this years ago and she lost quite a bit of weight and has never gained it back.

What I remember of it, my mom made me try it also when I was a teen, you took a handful of vitamins(3 or 4 diff ones) and drank a glass of apple cider vinegar with them each morning.

Apple cider vinegar is supposed to help with burning fat somehow.

I did it for about 6 months and didn't work for me. However, my mother didn't change the types of food we ate either.

Even though it appeared to work for her, I do NOT know what other changes she made when doing it, such as exercise or eating habits. She was always tiny until having 2 kids, so she lost her baby weight with it.

I?ve never heard of drinking a WHOLE glass?seems like that would make you sick. I know I couldn?t do it, just the thought is enough to turn me green.

Now my grandmother-in-law swears by adding a couple tablespoons to a morning glass of water.  I personally have no experience with this one way or the other. But a couple tablespoons in a glass of water each morning couldn?t hurt IMHO

Penny: Why on EARTH would you (your husband) drink vinegar for acid reflux? Do you know that vinegar is acetic acid?

Vinegar is for salad dressing and pickles, it's NOT a beverage!

I had a BAD kidney infection this past summer, and I would add a capful of acv to an 8 oz glass of apple juice (you can't taste it that way) and I could literally feel when it hit my kidneys.  But it cleared up in 3 days, faster than antibiotics have ever worked.  ALSO, if you have a sore throat, take a swig and gargle it once an hour until your sore throat goes away.  Mine's usually gone in about 3 hours and doesn't come back Laughing

As far as weight loss...I have no clue!

I heard that you're supposed to have 2 tablespoons a day, and that it helps the body all over in general - immune, heart, skin, hair, etc. Is it supposed to help weight loss, too?

I tried it in apple juice, grape juice, and by itself. It made me puke. -_-'

I'm curious to follow this thread to see what everyone else has to say about it. How much do you take a day? what happened when you took it? how could you manage the flavor?

I knew an older woman, years ago, who swore by 1 tbsp of ACV and honey per day.  It's a "tonic" that's been used for many years; older people seem to know about it.  Lately I've heard of using it for alkalizing the system for over-all health; research on that use goes back decades, and I read one interesting article on it published in the '30s.  I was surprised to hear it's being promoted for fat burning, now; I have no idea what support that has in any sort of research, or if there's been any research done.  Do you?
i almost vomited when i drank a shot....

Voodoolily... Actually cures from Apple Cider Vinegar are numerous. They include cures for allergies (including pet, food and environmental), sinus infections, acne, high cholesterol, flu, chronic fatigue, candida, acid reflux, sore throats, contact dermatitis, arthritis, and gout... many people use it for acid reflux! Laughing

Because the acid (in apple cider vinegar) helps break down the foods he eats, therefore causing the stomach not to produce so much acid. Kinda like how when body builders take testosterone, their body stops producing it.

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
