wish i knew though from what I understand you cannot "target" where your weight loss comes from. you may just be an apple shape so you'll need to lose more weight overall to get rid of the belly

doing ab exercises will tone the muscles but unfortunately if you have a lot of flab in the area the muscles won't show through until you lose the fat :(

i have heard though that sideways leg lifts help shape the waist

good luck

i heard the same thing: your body choose where to put the fat and also when/where to take it from.  Although I did hear that it does it in reverse order. For me, my face was the last to put on weight and it was the first to lose weight and now I've started to notice my arms getting thinner so it's held true me.

you can train to gain muscle in an area. so it will look more sculpted as the weight comes off though.

health321, thats a really interesting thought. I was always told that your boobs as a girl get bigger first and get smaller first, but mine have never been small so I can't really tell so far.

I think the last places I noticed were my side/back boobs and my face, but I think I've seen the most change in the last month of all places in my feet, they seem much leaner than before, and i'm hoping i'll get back into my pre-fat shoes soon.

My main weight loss needed area is my gut. I don't look too bad in other areas but I have a little meat apron that needs to go. I have noticed that ken-po which does a lot of kicks seems to be toning my hip area, and that since I started doing sit-ups the upper part of my stomach is shrinking and my waist is becoming more visible. I haven't measured so I can't tell you if anything has been lost since I started last month, but I've definitely noticed a shape change.

I also read that pomegranate juice, grapefruit, and green tea are good specifically for breaking down belly fat and I do all of those almost daily. I also heard refined grains can be a big cause so cutting those out is a good idea.

Also it's been understood that stress causes a gain specifically in belly fat because of the type of fat that is stored deep so some yoga or stretching to de-stress would be a good idea too. Even if it doesn't help you'll feel better mentally.

yes- lol.  I was kind of glossing over the boobs. they were one of the last things to get fat and the first thing to lose it. But I am clinging to the hope that the body really does remove in reverse order. because my thighs have much to give and my boobs... well, I'd like to keep the rest thanks :)

Although, I have lost weight in my hips- I wasn't paying attention but this post made me take a look in the mirror. woot, woot!  So my thighs should be next: pretty, pretty, pretty please. I could really stand to lose some fat in there.

dsam, congratulations on the progress. that's very exciting.  I'm trying to take a look at stress too.  It's a shame to put all this work into living healthy but send costant stress/anxiety hormones coursing through me at every little thing.  I'm going to try and add mediation to my daily routine. see if that helps me cope better with daily stress.  thanks for the reminder!! I really appreciate it
