Biggest Loser Season 10 Discussion
IT STARTS TONIGHT! Anyone watching it? I decided the only way I am allowed to watch it is if I set my treadmill in front of the TV and walk the entire show.
Oh, and if any of you are wondering, it starts tonight (9/21/10) at 8/7 PM. :)
EDIT: Now that the show has started, I have modified this thread to talk about BL10! Share your thoughts!
Oh my God. The gum commercial! I almost died! hahahaha
Jessica and Mark are so together.
Elizabeth needs to gtfo.
Brendan relies waaayyyy too much on the 'bros. I don't see him doing well after the show is over if he keeps up this mentality that it's all just a game.
p.s. What did you guys think about Patrick agreeing to vote off Jesse?
Not a good friend - unless the other person is ready to go home and pretty much done (like Sam last season) no need to vote off a good friend. That was pure game play. Keep kicking off the competition till it's the "alliance."

Yep, it changed from Bob to the the contestants - quite funny. I was sad to see Aaron and Jesse go but for the first time I see why Lisa wants to go home. She wants to be there to lose weight and get healthy, but she is so sick and tired of all of the drama and game play. Hopefully, they will get back to focusing on weight loss before the show is over. And what is with the guys causing the drama...that's just odd.
Yes, Lisa hit the nail on the head, whil estanding on those scales 'it's not healthy', and 'we won't go home because we are placeholders for Brendan and Fredo'. Hello??? So true! Hopefully the producers of the show will take the hint. The fans don't want this format. Commercials built in to the show??? Come on! We watch to watch these people succeed and lose weight. Save the high drama for Survivor.
Just a quick question - did anyone see any commercials in the show? Once it was over, something felt weird. :D Oh, I'm so happy for Ada. She was number 1 in weight loss! And, as expected, the guys kept the weakest person on the show to make them look even better. For many weeks, I've been ready for Elizabeth to go home...and with how the guys are acting, she has a chance to stay on a week or two more - arg!!! Any other thoughts?
I have not liked Elizabeth's attitude from the beginning. Really, every week she gets up there and is like "I really learned something about myself this week...things are going to change" and they NEVER do! So she gets up there and says the same thing next week. and the next week. and the next week...for the whole season. I guess, I can't be one to judge, because I too have my struggles. But to get up there and claim that she basically "gets it" week after week after week when she doesn't, it really bothers me. I know it's good for people who "don't get it" to stay at the ranch, but I am honestly just starting to believe that the ranch is not the right place for her. She is NOT taking advantage of her resources! I just feel like Elizabeth is going to win, because nobody will vote her off for what reason??? They are enabling her, and from a tv viewer of the show, I have seen the least effort from her, even when Bob and Jillian are trying to push her. I hope, if she were to some reason come onto CC, that she can read this and still be proud of herself for getting this far...but I really, honestly, hope she is learning at least SOMETHING and not just saying that she is.
Sometimes this show just makes me angry. I've never seen people get so upset over losing ONLY 5 lbs in one week. That is insane. And the way Jillian Michaels acts like the women on the show are somehow betraying all of womankind if they ONLY lose 5 lbs in 7 days. I would like to slap her.
And I have never in my life seen so many people crying on any TV show. I'm a huge crybaby, and even I have become desensitized to these people's tears. I could do without the relentless crying, sob stories, and spiels.
I like seeing people lose weight, and that's the only reason I watch the show. But it all seems very scripted and over the top and I hate the message that it sends, that losing weight is only something to be happy about if you're losing as much as you can as fast as you can. It's a very dangerous message to send, really.
This thread is a little stale, but any thoughts on tonight's episode?
I know that the biggest loser results (at least the timeline) are not applicable to my specific circumstances, but I continue to be impressed by Ada. Her competitive attitude and drive to succeed is remarkable.
I am all for Ada. Elizabeth is the person who shouldn't be there. She was kept there largely because of strategy and not based on effort or merit. She has been in the bottom of almost every episode. There is always an excuse or a reason. And even though she did better than Ada at home, Ada is a bada**. I just get sick of listening to Elizabeth. And I will be a little grossed out if she manages to cruise through all the way to the final 3.
I agree. If I had a vote (I'm Canadian, so I don't think I can vote), I'd vote for Ada, because she deserves it.
I am still shocked that Elizabeth made it to the final 4. I did my 10 votes for Ada as soon as the show was over. I really hope that Ada makes it because she has been my favorite from the very beginning.
I love Ada!!! I'm watching the latest episode on nbc.com right now, and I adore her spirit. Everytime she passed one of the mile markers during the marathon and said, "Yay! Mile [#]!" and kept running, all I could think was that if I had been in her position I would have just been wincing at the thought of the miles left to go. I'll be rooting for her next week during the finale!
