Let's be Bikini Babes...10-20 down by May 1st....DAILY SUPPORT GROUP :) *CLOSED*

Quote  |  Reply

Okay, so I've joined many groups and so many of them seem to falter during the week and pick up around weigh in. I want to start a group with people who have time for daily/every other day check ins, support, and perhaps 2 weigh ins a week.

I am getting married in July...the 9th to be exact...so June 1st gives me 1 month before the wedding to get to my goal weight.

In the past 3-4 months I've gained about 25 pounds and need to lose it. Not ALL of it but MOST of it.

I am quite knowledgeable about diet, weight, metabolism, and fitness so can answer many questions and support you all as we strive to get HOTT HOTT HOTT before summer time.

My only desire is that we check in every other day or so in order to build a real community of support.

SO...LIST YOUR SW, CW, GW....YOUR PLAN OF ATTACK (CALORIES, EXERCISE, AND ANY SPECIFIC DIET IF YOU'RE ON ONE).

We will weigh in on Tuesdays (allows weight to decrease after a weekend splurge) and Fridays (it might make you more focused going into the weekend).

--------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------- ----------------------

Weigh ins...We have about 13 weeks...so whether your goal is 10 or 20...or somewhere in between...it's only 1.5 pounds a week MAX...that's a 750 calorie deficit daily...we can do this.

Here are the weigh in dates for now-February...

The bolded members need to update their weight/measurements.

The final weigh in will be May 3rd...time to reward ourselves with a new bikini in time for swimsuit season :)

you could do some home strength moves...like 3 sets of 20 reps of lunges, squats, push ups, and leg lifts. Then 50reps/3 sets of crunches and 1min/3 sets of planks.

This should take about 12-15 minutes.

For cardio:

pretend jump rope for 1 min.

jump straight up in the air with your hands above your head, arms locked for 1 min.

jumping jacks for 1 min.

alternate kicks for 1 min.

punch the air (like tae bo status) for 1 min.

Repeat 3 times for 15 minutes of cardio. You'll definitely feel worked.

so great, thank you!!

brittany: 100 to VS...so lucky. i want to be sexy by my wedding day...that keeps me focused. i also look at several magazines daily and weighing myself helps with the motivation

i ate another snack..i had a mini bag of popcorn and a cup of cocoa...about 150 calories...so 1450 calories today...loads of working out...id guess that i burned 1000 or so today...so a 1000 calorie deficit...average that with yesterday and its about 650:

today was really great. i drank loads of water and did well calorie wise. even made up for yesterday. i couldnt be more satisfied with today.

How exciting about the weight loss and the VS gift card!!  Are you going out for your birthday or anything?

hello everyone!  I went on my first run (I normally just use the elliptical) since field hockey season!  Oh. My. God.  I couldn't even make it all the way to my goal (2.1 miles away).  I turned around at 1.4, but I felt like I really pushed myself, so that's good!  However today... good lord, I can barely move I'm so sore!  But at least it is a constant reminder of what I'm working towards...

Well, that's my update, but I have a bit of a question.  So, I was told yesterday that I needed to up my calories.  Well, I have been doing that gradually for the past few weeks, but what I am noticing is that I am increasing my fat intake a ton!  I mean, it's mostly all healthy fats, so that's good... but my diet tends to look like Carb: 60% Fat: 25: Protein: 15.  Do you all know of any ways I can make it more 50-25-25?

Good job on your run...2.8 miles is a pretty aggressive start! Make sure that you don't injure yourself by doing too much too soon. I so love running, so keep us posted on your progress. How much/often do you plan to run? I shoot for 50/25/25 for my calorie intake. (I have been considering more protein.) in order to decrease you carbs and increase your protein, eat things like chicken breast, turkey breast and tuna. I also eat protein bars after weightlifting. Today, my high protein lunch was baby lettuces with canned salmon and a diced lowfat babybel cheese.

ok girls...let me be the first to weigh in.  As shocked as I was about the bizzare weight gain yesterday, I am shocked about my weight loss today.  I am down to 151.8!  Chrissy, I am not sure how you want us to report, but you said something about cut and paste.  I don't think I am authorized to go into the OP, so here's my line:

lisa/lcuconley (143)/-10: 153...151.8

lisa...congrats. I updated your line. that's awesome. 1.2 pounds down...only 8.8 to go! you're doing great. up early!

becca: the macronutrient range doesn't have to be exact but to get closer to 50/25/25 you could just use the plate method...I'd say 1/2 veggies and a bit more than 1/4 protein and a bit less than 1/4 grains. That way the carbs are down a bit and protein is up a bit...add a tbsp of fat somewhere...like almonds or olive oil for dipping or dressing.

Okay here's my weigh in....I was actually less a few days ago(sunday) so I don't know what happened.  I know I am prone to gain muscle though.  So maybe I'll be battling that as well.  We'll see.

angela (120)/-19: 139.... So I'm down to 137, 2 lbs isn't bad.  Don't know exactly what you want me to do with this though.   Sorry!  lol.  But I also think I'll have to make it 129 instead of 120, so 10lb instead of 19.  I don't think I'll make that by May with my muscle!  lol.  Thanks!

And good job Lisa!

Some of us maybe have to measure ourselves.  I know I do.  In the last few weeks I'm down 8 inches.  So it sounds better to me than the 2 lbs that I lost!

Ok so i was up this weekend (PMS eating) but now i'm down slightly....i'll take slightly.  I know i've been working out a lot more and fairly intense so my muscles could be retaining some extra water.  progress is progress Smile

stacy (125)/-14.5: 139.5....2/1 139.2

Congrats Angela and Lisa! Awesome start you'll look great by May.

Angela - i'm with you on the measuring thing especially when i start a training program, last time i did one i lost 1 lb in 4 months, but i lost 2 inches in my waist so i guess the scale doesn't always show it.  I took measurements when i started in 1/3 and am down about 1/4 of an inch in my waist, hips and thighs so i must be doing something right.

Good luck everyone!

Good job stacy!  I'm glad I'm not the only one who has to measure to remind myself that we are doing something right!  The worst part for me is that I've lost three of those inches off my chest...and I'm only a B, so I will shortly be an A!  Ugh.  OH well.  I guess fat is fat, no matter where it comes off.  Good luck and good weight ins everyone!

okay so i weighed myself first thing this morning and it was 113.2....then i ate and had some RR time...then it said 112.8...i ate about a half pound or so of food..i so figure my weight is about 112.2 today....i also think i'm holding onto some water. i drank a lot of water yesterday but i just feel heavy today...i'm hoping by friday the scale will be 111.something. i really really hope so because i've done great all week...keeping a deficit every single day....average of at least 600 a day. so we shall see come friday. posting the bikini pics in 2 seconds.

stacy: great job. progress IS progress. i don't measure but maybe i should. i don't want to see the numbers right now though...lol.

angela: 2 pounds is a lot. congrats! i will change your goal weight and update your loss.

weighed in this morning and it was 126.2! With body fat of 24 point something percent....yay! Good luck everyone!

wow. that's awesome!

I need a scale for my house..I work in a hospital so i plan on using the one there, but I used the one at the Dr. yesterday, but I want a good one.

what kind of scales do u guys have?

do u think i can get a good one at target for a decent price?

Im on my way to the gym now, no work this morning! yah

Good job angela, 2 lbs is great, if you keep on that track u will be able to make your first goal you made by may!!

Chrissy im excited to see ur pic!

Stephanie Im not sure yet, I will probably go to dinner with my family Monday, thats if I dont have to work all day! I work in the Operating room, so when there are broken bones to be fixed I get called in at all hours of the day and night! and the day after the superbowl, probably gonna be pretty busy..expecially if we win!

Chrissy you look great in that bathing suit already!

Angela - 2 pounds is great!  Congrats!  I will try to remember to buy a tape measure.  And the boobs...I remember my buxom days when I was pregnant (heavy sigh).  I sure look like an "A" cup in the mirror!

Becca - I am with you on the "slightly"...as long as we are moving in the right direction!

Chrissy - Hang in there!  Maybe its the sodium from your popcorn?

Ashley - WOW! 2.8 down? Congrats.

I was up early for my 7.4 mile run...I am still so disappointed I had to cut my workout short yesterday that I am relieved that everything is OK.

Chrissy-you are very pretty and your swimsuit is cute!!

Lcuconley-you are a runner? Me too!! But haven't done more than 6mi in a while! Good for you on your morning run, that's great!

BTW-I weighed myself this morning before I ate anything...my last weight was in the middle of the day--My weight fluctuates sooo much throughout the day, does anyone else notice that? From now on though, when I weigh myself, I will only do Tuesdays and Fridays and do it before I eat in the morning so it will be more accurate.

I have a conair weightwatchers scale.  It does bodyfat% (though, as we know, its a pretty unreliable measure, that's another number I like to see go in the right direction).  I like it and its been pretty good for about the last year or so.  I bought it a target, probably spent $30-40.  oh, and it does not beep>>>my husband does not have to know I weigh myself 10 times in the am!

Chrissy - OMG - you look awesome already!!  Really, you better stop at 99 if not before.  I know pics don't equal the real thing, but, wow.

DITTO!

Yes, I LOVE running.  I cut back to 2 runs a week so I could focus on crosstraining, but there is just something about running that is so satisfying! - Lisa

Yes, my weight fluctuates tremendously throughout the day (especially when I am drinking the water that I need to be drinking).  It is definitely best to weigh in the am before breakfast.

you guys are so sweet and supportive. when i sit down my stomach hangs waaay over and i have a lot of fat in the love handle area. i admit that i was shiocked by the photos. i feel like they are more flattering than i really am. i am pretty muscular so my weight range is anywhere from 95-100 because any less than that will make me look like a boy. i plan on posting a new pic next friday. hopefully by then i will be almost 110. who knows...maybe at 105 i willbe at goal. im open to change it depending on how my clothes fit and what not.

lisa: do you like your scale?? mind kind of sucks. i dont like it very much because it gives me weights within .4 pounds of each other but different every time. i dont get it and it annoys me. you ran 7+ miles today?? wow that is awesome

brittany: thanks girlie. it makes me feel good to hear that because i am so criticalof my body and feel ashamed to be naked. i think the pics will actually help with that

ashley: the fluctuations are crazy for me too. sometimes im lighter after ive eaten because it gets things moving so i subtract my food weight from the scale weight to arrive at my actual weight. i dont know how else to get an accurate weigh in. at 5'5 and 126 im sure you look amazing in a swimsuit but i know how it is to not feel your best. none of my pants fit me anymore so thats the huge push to lose at least to 100,
