Getting in Bridal Shape

Quote  |  Reply

Has anyone successfully gotten into shape for their wedding? or any dress?  I'm about one in two big in the upper belly to close the zipper and I have two months before the appointment to put in the lace-up back.  I've been dieting for about six weeks now (down 12 lbs! +/-) and I think the dress is a lot closer to closing, but I was wondering if anyone has achieved this feat?  I'm adding in more cardio this week, so hopefully that'll finish the job.

My disclaimer is that I've had a long engagement...

That being said, I injured myself and gained about 50lbs in little more than a year after buying my dress. The wedding is in November, but the dress only just started fitting this month (I've lost 34lbs), though it did not fit in March. It was great to be able to fit in it again, but I am still aiming to lose.

You could maybe expect another 12lbs max if you don't hit any stumbling blocks, but if you have a lace up back I imagine an inch or two in the top wouldn't be a big problem. They will just install a bigger cover, so don't stress. Congrats on the wedding though!

Wow, you have had a long engagement!  I had a piggy weekend so back to the chopping block, but it's good to know that someone has fit back into a dress.  I dont want the lace-up since it will completely change the look of the dress (the back is transparent and a lace-up will cut into that section), but if it's my only choice, I'll take it.  Maybe I'll do another round of dress shopping in case something else is a coup de coeur, but I do like the one I've got.

Congrats and good luck too!

Follow-up, I zipped up the dress for the first time this saturday!  Sure, I had a light dinner on Friday and tried the dress on before eating breakfast, so I was at my lightest/thinnest in days, but still.  It was definitely tight and my gut was bulging, but it zipped closed and I've got two more months to make it look nicer/lose more weight.

Yea!

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
