Decided to come to calorie count because I really want to be mindful of what I'm eating! Looking to lose 5 lbs or so, preferably by New Years. Not necessarily looking for the same age, anyone that's friendly, really :)

I have your exact same stats...except I'm 30 :).  I'm also trying to lose 5 pounds (and keep them off)!

Cool! :) Curious, what is your daily calorie goal? I feel like I've yet to lose a single pound, and it's slightly frustrating... Sometimes it's hard to know how much I should be eating, when I should limit, and when I shouldn't!

Lol, my goal is 1,500.  In reality, I probably average about 2,000/day. I weight train 4 days a week, cardio 2 days, and rest 1 day.  I have an office job so I'm sedentary 8 hours/day :(.  I've pretty much just been maintining, but when I stick to 1,500 the weight drops off pretty fast.  I just can't sustain that low of calories with all the weight training I do...it makes me increadibly hungry.  You're much younger than me, so I'd bet you'd lose easily on 2,000/day with some activity.

Well hello there.

18 you say?  Well, that seems like a friendly age.

PM me...we'll hook up...I mean, plan our weight loss.

Funny trick for desk jobs (i did this back in high school ALL the time): tap your foot, or do some kind of small, discreet movement like that throughout work. Burns calories! Every little thing helps!

My new part-time job has me CONSTANTLY moving. Funny thing is, I'm not even exaggerating! That's one of their rules! I've not an idea how I would log any of that nonsense though...

I've been working on losing some weight for such a long time but the scale has yet to move, even a pound. Ive been trying a goal of 1600 cals, still no luck. I'm interested in weight training, but have no clue where/how to begin! I DO love me my cardio workouts though, anywhere from 30 mins to 1 1/2 hours, 5-6 days a week.
@caloricat

You know, I actually have no idea how to reply to you...
