Calorie change up for P90X?

Quote  |  Reply

So I'm about to start doing the P90X program today, and in the past 4 months I've been eating around 1200 calories a day. Although I have been losing weight, I was wondering if I should kick it up to 1300 due to the intensity of the P90X workout.
What do you think?

I would say track how much u burn n u can take that amount in food calories. U dont want to eat too little
We need to know Your stats... But 1200 is to little u could prob easily go to 1700 and prob shoul be at that as a min

Yikes. Those are both way too low... unless all you do is sleep all day.

The P90X program recommends 1700 calories, on the low end! It's intense, and those extra calories will be put to good use. I say you should aim for at least 1500 calories per day.

Or try consuming 1500-1700 on the days that you work out, and 1300-1400 on your rest days (this may be a bit more mentally easy for you)

When starting any intense program, it's not a good idea to starve yourself!! The calories that you eat right now is even too low for most people on a regular basis.
