how many calories should I be eating?

Hey everyone, I'm 15 yrs old and am 5'6.5". I currently weigh 141 lbs and my goal weight is 125 lbs. I started dieting 2 days ago and I have been eating approximately 1100 calories a day. Is that a good amount, or should I be eating less or more?

More. Way Way Way more. Minimum for a teenager would be 1,800. To get your specific minimum google a teenager BMR calculator. Don't eat below that. It will probably be over 2,000

If u google metabolic calculater, it will give you your number and usually do most of the math for you to work out your calorie intake maintenance number, then drop maybe 500 call off a day and you should see results of about a pound of fat gone a week.

Yes like gunanda said, 1800 is minimum before you may experience sickness and not to mention extremely low brain function. This won't help at school

sounds like you are at a good weight now? i don't think you are getting anywhere near enough calories. you have to also remember that weight is just a number. if you are in good shape i wouldn't worry about it at all. the last thing you want to do is deprive your body now when it needs nutrition and calories more than ever. good luck.
