i can't believe the amount of calories in raisins. i've done alot of calorie counting and watching what i eat in the past but never bothered to look at the value of what's in raisins!!!! omg! i can't believe it! it makes sense though, it's not from fat, it's from sugar. i'll be eating less of them in the future. has anyone got any suggestions for alternatives cos i found that raisins satified my sweet tooth! lol now i know why!

Thank god you posted this because I almost cried when I just inputed the nutritional info for my favorite nuts and raisins mix and got a D+ grade for the nutritional analysis. This WAS my healthy snack. Now what am I gonna do?
I think I'm gonna check out the nutritional info on raisins before I totally give up on them, because I know they do have some benefit (I think they are good fiber or high in iron), just don't know what that benefit is yet.
If i find something that is as tasty and sweet, but less calories, I will let you know.

Why not just eat grapes? They're like raisins... only different.
The dehydration process of the grape/raisin process takes all of the water out of the grape, which means you have to eat more raisins to feel more full, where as you could eat less grapes and feel the same amount of full as eating a lot of raisins. Also, I think think the process increases the sugar or something. (not really positive about that.)
