Does anyone have any way of binge proofing cereal boxes? :) Would be great LOL. That's where I go wrong, so often.
i have the same problem, as im hardly ever home the only food in my house is breakfast = ceral, milk and juice, and i only buy the food i need for that evening in a bid to avoid the urge to eat everything in the cupboard.
Discovered the only way to not go into major chow down on ceral is buy the borning stuff, porridge, muesli ertc there is only a certain amount you will want to eat
Thats true. I just grab handfuls and handfuls of special k and munch on it lol. I might have to switch to Special K museli which was good but not really edible like the original kind. LOl thanks for the tip. It didnt occur to me :)
Can you not get the multipacks? You know like the one's for kids with individual portions and you eat one every day? I'm sure you can buy them in healthy varieties.
I can't control myself around cereal. Cookies, ice cream, chips - all of those things are safer in my kitchen than cereal. I don't buy the stuff. Ever.
i'm a cereal addict.
thus, i don't buy it. lol
I'm going right now to get some more cereal, either in the form of those multipacks or special k museli. I can beat this LOL. I reckon I eat more cereal than anything else. I can avoid chocolate and everthing else but not cereal WTF
Eat oatmeal instead. It's almost impossible to binge on.
I have that problem as well. : (
oh my gosh, you have no idea how big a problem that is with me...i just grab the box and start eating out of it...fortunately my mom refuses to buy "junk" cereal, so i end up eating cheerios or something, but i once went through an entire box of frosted mini-wheats in less than an hour...
cereal's a tuffee. i cannot eat buy it ever ever.
but, just fyi, rolled oats are not necessarily super safe. i can easily eat an entire container, uncooked and just like that. i think they taste quite nutty, and the creaminess is awesome. however, they're more nutritious, so it's worth a try. good luck. if all goes awry, only eat it when you're out at a cafe and you can get a container. you can keep whole grain toast and eggs and cottage cheese in the house for breakfast, at least until you find yourself clawing for bran flakes...
I have the same problem with potato chips, so I don't buy em, or if rarely any way. So don't buy em, have egg whites for breakfest, with some garlic and mushroom lower cals, and stays with ya longer.
my 2 cents.
Glad to know that I'm not the only one.
I think I am a sugar/carb addict. I have eaten a box of cereal in one day before.
So, for a while, I stopped buying the sugary cereals. Now, I only buy All-Bran Original or Fiber one (the original, not honey clusters -- those are too good, I binge like crazy on them).... although recently, I've started binging on them too. Yikes.
Give those two a try. They've got next to no sugar (or so it tastes) so you might binge less. But you might not like them as much too
I either immediately portion it out into ziplock baggies or just don't buy it. I can eat cereal constantly all day long, and alot of the time I have enough self control to not. But the weeks I cant, I just dont buy it.
Cereal is one way i gained 20lbs at uni, as an "adult" i know only keep it at work where i eat breakfest first thing when i walk in. it gets me to work on time. sad but true knowing i need to be there 5 mins early or i miss my cereal, i have 3 boxes in there now and some days i just put a small handful of all three in the same bowl and eat it plain, no milk, if i use milk then i cant mix them cause the flavors all mix in the milk, i waste so much time reading cereal boxes at the shop!!!
1. Don't eat it.
2. Don't try new cereals. Always stick to the same type. You'll get bored of it and won't crave it. But if you try a load of cereals, you'll crave each one at different times. Therefore you'll eat more cereal.
3. Don't eat it.
I would binge on bowl after bowl of muesli, or crunchy oats, I would eat it till my belly nearly popped! I simply just DONT buy it anymore! I found it stayed in my system far too long and really bloated me out for days! I LOVE my porridge now, sprinkled with cinnamon, it does the trick! H x
oh, no, i binge on oatmeal as well.
but if i have splenda, its not that bad of a day. if i put chocolate and peanut butter chips in it... oops. too much dessert.
but oatmeal takes longer to make, and even the 90 seconds in the microwave can reduce binging.
i love oatmeal, it's my savior. if jesus could have chosen oatmeal instead of just eating grain on the sabbath, he would have. lol.
one night i ate a box of kashi go lean crunch. i was already bloated. then i ate it. the whole box. the next morning, my mom wondered where her cereal went.... oops. cereal is addicting.
I just dont buy cereal (i would eat it all). I used to have oatmeal...but found I kept eating that too (wouldnt even cook it, just eat it from the box).
Seems the only thing thats safe are the basic cooking things (flour, salt, splenda, buttermilk). Cant even have brown sugar around or i end up eating that too ><
i just finished a brand new box of cereal, 600g. And its 2410 calories.. waaaay.. over.... i am busted..
when i feel a binge coming on i scoop it up into several 1/4 cup packs, and munch on each slowly. i only eat about 2 lol so 1/2 a cup
