I realised how much TV I watch in a day. I therefore thought of a great way to burn some extra calories while doing this. Use a stepper. Shops can charge £20+ for a stepper even though effectively it is a 6" high bench. You can make your own really easily.
Get yourself a board which is approx 30" long and around the width of your foot size (I use a spare shelf from a book shelf). Then get 4 or 6 toilet rolls (only need to be cheap ones) and arrange them on the floor so they act as legs to the board.
Voila! You have yourself a perfectly good stepper which can be stored easily.
I made mine from an old kitchen cabinet door and four blocks of wood.
i don't step very much, but when i do i use my old skateboard. (obviously this only works on carpet.)
