Jennifer Aniston was spotted in California with a shopping trolley full of coconut oil which is is known can help weight loss because it speeds up the metabolism. Coconut oil is called the “low fat” fat. It actually acts like a carbohydrate in that it is quickly broken down in the liver and used as quick energy. It is NOT stored like other fats. It increases your metabolism so is great if you want to lose weight. You may of heard about the coconut diet. The Coconut Doctor doesn’t believe in diets, but I do believe that increasing your overall energy is the most natural and beneficial way to lose weight naturally. Coconut oil can allow you to increase your energy in a healthy way without the downer that can follow a carbohydrate meal.
so this is why i am supposed to use coconut oil in my muffins. Its awfully high in fat/calories.

Is coconut oil from eating a coconut? Or is it extracted from a coconut into a bottle? I've never even heard of coconut oil... is that different from coconut milk?

Yes you can get all the coconut benefits from eating a fresh coconut which you can get at most supermarkets but make sure its fresh with the inside clear and clean tasting not oily and murky looking.
Alternatively get some coconut oil (extracted from the pulp and packaged) and use it for cooking. Virgin oil is best.
Get coconut milk in the can or carton and use instead of cream. It's much healthier but like anything use in moderation.

I can verfiy this is true i actually bought some coconut oil BEFORE doing any research on it . I though it simply smell great and added flavor to my hot cocoa.. after a few week of using it my stomach got flat im not sure when this happened but oe day i looked down and my tummy was looking pretty awesome... i was tryingto figure out what i did what i ate ..soon after careful observation i realzed it was the cocnut oil when i stop taking it i notice many physical changes..like my skin started to break out again, i became bloated again, and pms symptoms came back.. no propaganda...jsut staright from the source cocnut oil is awesome.
Why should we trust celebrities, many of whom promote fad diets for money, who have time and disposable income to hire chefs and trainers full time, to make dietary decisions for us and our families?
It's not like celebrities ever did anything destructive, stupid or just plain pointless.
Bottom line: it is not going to magically make your belly flatter. Coconut oil may be better for you than simple carbs or Trans fats. Coconut is high in fibre. It might be as miraculous as... dun dun DUN!.. wholemeal bread.
Whenever I see a massive list of supposed health benefits, I suspect a fad, or a marketing drive.
the only way i found coconut oil to be helpful in losing weight is if you cook with it. I lost about 3-4 lbs within the first week I started to cook with coconut oil, and would have lost more weight if i kept eating foods that are cooked with coconut oil, but i didn't because i was nearing 100lbs which is too low for my taste. Eating the oil by itself did not seem to have an effect on my weight though. Other benefits of cooking with coconut oil based on first-hand experience: sweating more, digesting more, nails and hair growing faster, higher body temperature and of course sped up metabolism.
