Hey everyone! I want to make a support group for all of us college students that wanna slim down before Spring Break! I realize that this is going to be a short-lived group because break is only about 3 weeks away for me (and probably 4 weeks for many of you guys) but I thought this would be a nice way to give and receive support to stay healthy during college. We all know this can be such a challenge! So please join and introduce yourself... I would love to hear from you!
I am 5 ft 6 and 121 pounds. I have recently packed on a nice winter coat of 5 extra pounds and would like to get back to my more toned body! I find it hard to get an intense workout indoors so as soon as the ice melts from my favorite running trail i WILL be pounding the pavement, mark my words!
Also, I was thinking about a weekly weigh in... how about Sundays?
Runnergal, rest easy. You probably didn't eat as much as you think you did. Even if you did, it's probably just gonna make you do better the rest of the week! A lot of cardio will likely help, but over two hours is probably just going to be counter-productive.
Don't feel too bad, though, b/c I had my Sunday fatday and then turned around and went to dinner with the boyfriend. I felt way fat b/c my bf, who is super skinny, only ate like half of is steak and I felt like I could have eaten three plates of my red snapper. I didn't, but I could have.
Shake it off, one bad day is going to do NOTHING. Just don't let it turn into a week-long binge fest and you're golden :)
Anyway, it was a holiday! I definitely splurged on a little candy... had a little too much today too actually.
Let's start fresh tomorrow?
Hope all's well!
I just ordered a couple of new bikinis so I have to stay on track--for monetary reasons.
woot woot down to 117 pounds and I have been eating like CRAP literally since sunday. Eating out one time a day and dessert (not a small portion) every night... Totally didnt expect that... We can do it ladies.. How is everyone doing?
Runnergal I totally feel ya with wanting to workout extra for eating extra but over stressing your body is counter productive like livv said.
You girls are amazing inspiration...
While you're getting your brag on, Cherryloo, I'm going to do the same: I hit 113 this morning! It's so wonderful to finally see your body let go of that monthly water weight haha. Still going strong :)
I am avoiding the scale until sunday! I promised myself I wouldn't do it! haha I have been doing well the past few days so the valentines day incident is in the past and im over it! I do have a question for you guys... i have eaten around 1000 calories a couple of times NOT PURPOSELY but i have just been soooo busy. whenever I ate I made very healthy decisions and the calories just didnt add up to 1200 at the end of the day. My question is: at what point does your metabolism become affected? at 1200 calories? 1000? 800?
Also, my florida spring break plans fell through unfortunately. i still want to be around 116 and toned for break even though i will just be going home and not putting on a bikini (unless its warm enough!) How are you guys doing?? congrats cheryloo and kittywood! I hope i have similar results when I weigh in on SUNDAYYYY!
Dang Kittywood.. We be doing awesome... Im lovin it.. What has been the hardest and easiest thing for you?
runnergal5- a few days is ok but if you stop feeding your body properly you will go into starvation mode and start gaining on that little of calories.. Hell yeah just because your “plans” fell through do it for yourself. I bet you will girl!
Toning up for Spring Break sounds amazing! Count me in! I am currently 5'4" and 119.5 lbs. I don't want to lose any more weight but I would love to join in!
We are doing awesome, Cheryloo! Hardest thing: hunger on days I don't exercise. Is it weird that I'm hungrier on my rest days than on exercise days? Like yesterday I was in the gym for over two hours and didn't hit my calorie target, even with going out, but today I'm resting and was shaking in class b/c I was so hungry. I thought I was supposed to be less hungry on rest days?
Anyway, the easiest thing for me is actually staying motivated. I've lost a good 15 lbs since this time last year and it's just so wonderful to know that I can do it that even if I go a little overboard on Sunday Fatday, I can go right back to where I was b/c I know how to. This is the smallest I've been in my adult life and I'm so excited to see what I'm really supposed to look like!
Wow, everyone is doing awesome. This week has been so busy for me with school and work. I have had such little motivation to go to the gym. I did go for a nice run outside yesterday - which was awesome. I am going to a zumba class today and starting boot camp next week. I think I am going to tone down my workouts, length of running, and focus more on my calorie intake. I only have 5 weeks to lose these 4-5 pounds.
I find when I work out, I let myself over indulge. I am also hungry on non-work out days. I think our metabolism is just fired up all the time because we exercise so much. I try to have high protein snacks with me. A little bit fills me up for a long time as long it is protein. I find half a turkey sandwich to be so much more filling than a granola bar - weird!
Good luck over the weekend everyone. I had pizza last night. So, I am going to "try" to stay on target with healthy decisions the rest of the weekend!
hey guys! ive been on calor count for .. feels like FOREVER.. on and off. I;ve never actually posted anythign before, even though I read the forums all the time. But I'm finally really trying to lose these extra pounds Ive gained over the holidays and what not, before summer time rolls around. Im 5 foot tall and weigh about 117. Id ultimately like to get down to around 110, but really am focused more on what my body looks like then the number on the scale.
Anyways, im hoping by actually posting I'll feel help more responsible to keep myself on track!
Hey all I haven't written on here in a little bit but I just wanna check in to see how everyone is doing! I weighed in on Sunday and I must have been dehydrated again because I was about 115. Either that or I am beginning to think my scale is broken (very likely!) so I guess the real goal here is to see how much I weigh when I return home next Friday :) Is everyone getting good results?
I had a slip up again yesterday and ate a few hundred over maintenance which I am a bit bummed about :( I can't believe I did it again! I was doing so well since Valentines Day! But I went for a nice run this morning and though I still feel very bloated and FATTTT I am sure it will pass
